The advantage of a concentrated DIY flavoring

The DIY concentrated flavoring gives you the freedom to create your own blends at a great value for money. By mixing your own e-liquid yourself, it is possible to obtain personalized flavors tailored to your taste, while controlling the nicotine dosage.

It is also a more economical solution: a single bottle of flavoring allows you to prepare several tens of milliliters of e-liquid, at a lower cost than ready-to-vape e-liquids.

For demanding vape enthusiasts, DIY is thus a cost-effective experience.

Required equipment

In order to create your own DIY e-liquid, you will need:

• A concentrated flavoring for DIY;
• A neutral PG/VG base (with or without nicotine);
• An additive (optional);
• One or more empty bottles to carry your mixes;
• A pipette or a graduated bottle ;
• Latex gloves and protective goggles if you need to handle nicotine.

Before any handling, make sure to work on a clean, washed surface out of reach of children and animals.

DIY flavoring dosage

A concentrated flavoring must be mandatorily diluted in a PG/VG base and cannot be vaped on its own.

Depending on the manufacturer, a DIY flavoring has a different dilution rate, always expressed as a percentage: 4%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%.

Concretely, in our DIY Pack 200 ml in 50/50 PG/VG, this would give:

• 4% of total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 8 ml of flavoring to add to your 200 ml base
• 10% of total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 20 ml of flavoring to add to your 200 ml base
• 15% of total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 30 ml of flavoring to add to your 200 ml base
• 20% of total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 40 ml of flavoring to add to your 200 ml base
• 25% of total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 50 ml of flavoring to add to your 200 ml base

In a 70/30 base:

If your neutral base contains more propylene glycol (flavor enhancer), we recommend reducing the dosage of your flavoring (from 15 to 12% minimum).

In a 30/70 base:

If your neutral base contains more vegetable glycerin (which softens flavors), we recommend adding a little more flavoring to your mix (from 15 to 17%).

Steeping

Let your e-liquid rest for a few days to a few weeks so the flavors fully develop. Some flavors require more steeping time than others:

• Simple fruit flavors: 0 to 5 days;
• Complex fruit flavors (raspberry, orange, apple, blackberry, watermelon, dragon fruit...): 5 to 7 days;
• Menthol, spiced, vanilla, or anise flavors: 10 to 15 days;
• Dessert flavors: 15 to 20 days;
• Classic flavors: approximately 15 days.

After the steeping period, taste your liquid. You can adjust the flavor by adding base to soften it or by adding flavoring to strengthen it, if necessary.

Storage

To preserve all the qualities of your DIY e-liquid:

• Store it in a dry place, away from light and heat;
• Note the manufacturing date and ingredients on each bottle;
• Always store your preparations out of reach of children and animals.
