The advantage of a concentrated flavour for DIY

The DIY concentrated flavour gives you the freedom to create your own blends at great value for money. By mixing your own e-liquid, you can obtain personalised flavours tailored to your tastes, while controlling your nicotine dosage.

It is also a more economical solution: a single bottle of flavour allows you to prepare several tens of millilitres of e-liquid, at a lower cost than ready-to-vape e-liquids.

For demanding vape enthusiasts, DIY is therefore a cost-effective experience.

Required equipment

To create your own DIY e-liquid, you will need:

• A concentrated flavour for DIY ;
• A neutral PG/VG base (with or without nicotine) ;
• An additive (optional) ;
• One or more empty bottles to carry your mixes ;
• A pipette or a graduated bottle ;
• Latex gloves and safety goggles if you need to handle nicotine.

Before any handling, make sure to work on a clean, washed surface, out of reach of children and animals.

DIY flavour dosage

A concentrated flavour must be diluted in a PG/VG base and cannot be vaped on its own.

Depending on the manufacturer, a DIY flavour has a different dilution rate, always expressed as a percentage: 4%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%.

In practice, in our DIY Pack 200 ml in 50/50 PG/VG, this would give:

• 4% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 8 ml of flavour to add to your 200 ml base
• 10% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 20 ml of flavour to add to your 200 ml base
• 15% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 30 ml of flavour to add to your 200 ml base
• 20% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 40 ml of flavour to add to your 200 ml base
• 25% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 50 ml of flavour to add to your 200 ml base

In a 70/30 base:

If your neutral base contains more propylene glycol (flavour enhancer), we recommend reducing the dosage of your flavour (from 15 to a minimum of 12%).

In a 30/70 base:

If your neutral base contains more vegetable glycerin (which softens flavours), we recommend adding a little more flavour to your mix (from 15 to 17%).

Maturation

Let your e-liquid rest for a few days to a few weeks so the flavours develop fully. Some flavours require more maturation time than others :

• Simple fruity flavours : 0 to 5 days ;
• Complex fruity flavours (raspberry, orange, apple, blackberry, watermelon, dragon fruit...) : 5 to 7 days ;
• Menthol, spiced, vanilla, or anise flavours : 10 to 15 days ;
• Dessert flavours : 15 to 20 days ;
• Classic flavours : approximately 15 days.

After the maturation period, taste your liquid. You can adjust the flavour by adding base to soften it or adding flavour to strengthen it, if needed.

Storage

To preserve all the qualities of your DIY e-liquid:

• Store it in a dry place, away from light and heat ;
• Note the manufacturing date and ingredients on each bottle ;
• Always store your preparations out of reach of children and animals.
