Essential for any e-cigarette, the e-liquid is the heart of your vaping experience. The 10 ml format is currently the only one permitted to contain nicotine under European regulations. Compact, practical and easy to carry, it lets you try a flavour, adjust your nicotine level or vape daily with complete ease.
It is also the ideal format to support a journey of reducing or quitting tobacco, at your own pace.
The right nicotine level depends above all on your smoker profile and habits. The goal is to satisfy the craving without discomfort, while keeping vaping enjoyable.
Light smoker (fewer than 5 cigarettes per day)
0 to 6 mg/ml
A mild dosage, sufficient to curb the urge to smoke while offering a light throat sensation.
Moderate smoker (5 to 15 cigarettes per day)
6 to 12 mg/ml
An ideal balance to recreate a sensation close to a traditional cigarette, without frustration.
Heavy smoker (more than 15 cigarettes per day)
12 to 18 mg/ml
A higher level, designed to meet a significant nicotine need, particularly at the start of quitting.
Heavy smoker (more than 20 cigarettes per day)
18 to 20 mg/ml
The maximum permitted dosage, often associated with nicotine salts, for faster absorption and a smoother sensation.
These indications are guidelines only: every vaper is different. Your personal experience, throat hit and the equipment you use may lead you to adjust your dosage.
Thanks to their high propylene glycol content, these e-liquids are fluid, highly aromatic and deliver a pronounced throat hit. They are perfectly suited to indirect vaping (MTL), close to the sensation of a cigarette.
High-PG e-liquids perform at their best on compact models focused on flavour delivery, such as:
They also work very well with high-performance pods that are easy to use:
For optimal flavour delivery, opt for MTL-oriented clearomisers, such as:
Ideally, small coils of between 1.2 ohm and 1.8 ohm are recommended for a smooth, economical and flavourful vape.
A drip tip 510, narrow and elongated, is recommended to concentrate the aromas and enhance the sensation in the mouth.
High-PG e-liquids do not require high wattage.
Vaping at under 20 watts is more than sufficient to fully enjoy the flavours, while extending coil life.
Regular maintenance is essential to ensure a healthy, flavourful and long-lasting vape:
Think about recycling: empty bottles must be disposed of through appropriate channels.

An e-liquid (or liquid for electronic cigarettes) is the product that generates vapour when heated by the coil of an electronic cigarette. Unlike traditional cigarettes, there is no combustion. The e-liquid is composed of a base (propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine), flavourings, and optionally nicotine. It determines the taste, the throat hit, the cloud production, and the overall vaping experience.
An e-liquid generally contains four elements:
Some formulas also use alternative vegetable bases (Végétol) for extra smoothness.
An e-liquid with nicotine is intended for vapers who wish to replace traditional cigarettes. Nicotine acts on the feeling of satisfaction and reduces cravings. Nicotine-free e-liquids are used either at the end of a cessation programme or purely for the pleasure of vaping, although it is not recommended to vape if you are not a smoker. Choosing the right nicotine level is essential to avoid a poor experience (irritation or cravings). The nicotine dosage depends on your previous cigarette consumption. A light smoker will not have the same needs as a heavy smoker. A level that is too low can lead to frustration and relapse, while a level that is too high can cause throat discomfort. The goal is to find the right balance between throat hit, sensation, and vaping comfort, adjusting gradually as needed. As a general rule, a low dosage of 0, 3, or 6 mg/ml of nicotine is recommended for light or occasional smokers (fewer than 7 cigarettes per day), and a high dosage of 20 mg/ml nicotine salt is recommended for heavy smokers (one pack of cigarettes or more). However, this dosage can be adjusted depending on your e-cigarette and your vaping style.
Nicotine salt is a more stable and smoother form of nicotine for inhalation. It provides rapid absorption with a less harsh throat hit, even at high concentrations. Nicotine salt e-liquids are particularly suited to beginner vapers, former heavy smokers, and low-wattage MTL kits. Various nicotine salt dosages are available. The best-known and most effective is 20 mg/ml, very well suited to heavy smokers. However, a dosage of 10 mg/ml can work very well for a regular or occasional smoker.
A nicotine booster is a nicotine-concentrated bottle designed to be added to a large-format e-liquid. It allows you to adjust the final nicotine level depending on the quantity added. Flexible and cost-effective, this solution lets you boost your large-format e-liquid to 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine. For a 50 ml e-liquid, adding one nicotine booster will give you 3 mg/ml; adding two nicotine boosters will bring your e-liquid to 6 mg/ml.
The propylene glycol / vegetable glycerin ratio has a strong influence on the vaping experience.
The choice therefore depends on the wattage and compatibility with your e-cigarette. If in doubt, the most common ratio remains the 50/50 PG/VG. Balanced, it allows versatile use across MTL, RDL, and light DTL e-cigarette models (between approximately 15 and 40 watts).
E-liquids with a vegetable base or containing Végétol replace traditional propylene glycol. They are often gentler on the throat, better tolerated by vapers who are sensitive to PG, and offer a smoother vape without compromising on flavour. However, they should be used in MTL with a low wattage (minimum 30 watts) to avoid the risk of leaks and preserve the quality of the product.
Yes, CBD e-liquids are designed for vaping and generally do not contain nicotine. They offer a different sensation, focused on relaxation, without any addictive effect. They should be used at moderate wattage to preserve the quality of the product. For best results, use them with a tight-draw MTL e-cigarette.
E-liquids are considered a much healthier alternative to smoked tobacco. They are formulated from certified ingredients with no health risks, unlike the 7,000 harmful substances found in traditional cigarettes. Nevertheless, a few precautions should be taken when choosing a safe e-liquid, such as purchasing from a recognised retailer like Le Vapoteur Discount or checking the composition and origin by favouring reputable and regulated brands.
An e-liquid manufactured in France meets strict requirements and European directives regarding traceability, quality control, and safety. As a guarantee of quality and transparency for the consumer, French and European brands generally have their own laboratory for developing their e-liquid formula and are required to have that formulation tested by an independent laboratory before it goes to market. These steps ensure that e-liquids are safe for vapers. French and European quality standards prohibit undesirable substances and provide a more secure framework for vaping.
To keep your e-liquid for as long as possible and preserve its quality, taste, and colour, store it in its original bottle, ideally away from light, heat, and air. Despite these precautions, the e-liquid may develop a slightly brown tint. This is harmless and safe to use; the colour is caused by the oxidation of nicotine and may also depend on the flavouring used in the e-liquid. It is generally recommended not to keep the same e-liquid in your clearomiser or pod cartridge for more than 5 days if you are not using it, to prevent leaks and excessive oxidation.
The DLUO (Date Limite d'Utilisation Optimale) or BBD (Best Before Date) is an indicative date. Once the e-liquid's date has passed, it may lose its flavour qualities and its appearance (colour, consistency). A factory-fresh e-liquid will have a BBD of approximately 2 years. Even past its BBD, the e-liquid remains safe to vaporise and will not be harmful to health.
