Plant-based e-liquids represent a more natural alternative that is often better tolerated than traditional e-liquids. Instead of propylene glycol, they contain components derived from plant resources such as Végétol, Olivéine or Vegetable Mono Propylene Glycol (VMPG).
These bases offer several advantages: they are gentler on the throat, reduce the risk of irritation or dryness, and are better suited to vapers who are sensitive to or allergic to standard PG.
Végétol, for example, is recognised for better carrying nicotine, with fast and effective diffusion, while ensuring excellent flavour stability.
Eco-friendly, better tolerated and often compatible with mouth-to-lung (MTL) vaping, these plant-based bases are increasingly appealing to vapers looking for a healthier and more natural experience.
Light smoker (fewer than 5 cigarettes per day): 3 to 6 mg/ml of nicotine. If you smoke little, a low nicotine level may be enough to satisfy your tobacco cravings.
Moderate smoker (5 to 15 cigarettes per day): 6 to 12 mg/ml of nicotine. For those who smoke regularly, a medium nicotine level will help you find the sensations and satisfaction that match your habits.
Heavy smoker (more than 15 cigarettes per day): 12 to 18 mg/ml of nicotine. If you smoke a lot, you will probably need a high nicotine level to compensate for the strong sensation of withdrawal and the urge to smoke.
Heavy smoker (more than 20 cigarettes per day): 18 and 20 mg/ml of nicotine. Heavy smokers need the maximum nicotine level to counterbalance the effects of withdrawal and stopping smoking.
This estimate is for guidance only; every vaper is unique and may reconsider their nicotine level based on their throat sensation and the equipment used.
Plant-based e-liquids offer a balance suited to versatile e-cigarettes and small compact pod-type devices. They should be kept away from sub-ohm devices with coils between 0.4 and 0.15 ohm, which are too airy.
E-cigarette: plant-based e-liquids are suitable for the majority of versatile e-cigarettes such as the CoolFire Z80 by Innokin, the Kit Zelos M80 by Aspire or the iStick T80 by Eleaf.
Pod: The Kit pod Soul 2 by GeekVape and the Vibe SE by Vaporesso.
Clearomizer: versatile models such as the Zenith 2 by Innokin, the GTX18 by Vaporesso or the Zeus Nano 2 by GeekVape are compatible with plant-based e-liquids.
Coil: ideal with coils between 1.2 ohm and 0.4 ohm maximum.
Drip tip: a standard 510 format drip tip mouthpiece is preferred.
A setting between 10 and 30 watts is suitable for plant-based e-liquids.
To ensure a long lifespan and optimal performance for your e-cigarette, regular maintenance is essential:
• Frequently clean your clearomizer and drip tip to prevent the build-up of residue;
• Replace coils as soon as you notice a change in flavour and a drop in performance (on average every 2 to 3 weeks);
• Avoid leaving your tank full with the same e-liquid for more than 5 days without using it (risk of leakage, flavour deterioration).
If you don't smoke, don't vape :)

An e-liquid (or electronic cigarette liquid) is the product that generates vapour when heated by the coil of an electronic cigarette. Unlike traditional cigarettes, there is no combustion. The e-liquid is composed of a base (propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine), flavourings, and optionally nicotine. It determines the taste, throat sensation, cloud production, and overall vaping experience.
An e-liquid generally contains four elements:
Some formulas also use alternative vegetable bases (Végétol) for added smoothness.
An e-liquid with nicotine is intended for vapers who wish to replace traditional cigarettes. Nicotine acts on the feeling of satisfaction and limits cravings. Nicotine-free e-liquids are used either at the end of the quitting process, or purely for the pleasure of vaping, although vaping is not recommended if you are not a smoker. Choosing the right nicotine level is essential to avoid a poor experience (irritation or cravings). The nicotine dosage depends on your previous cigarette consumption. A light smoker will not have the same needs as a heavy smoker. A level that is too low can lead to frustration and relapse, while a level that is too high can cause throat discomfort. The aim is to find the right balance between throat hit, sensation, and vaping comfort, adjusting gradually as needed. A low dosage of 0, 3, or 6 mg/ml of nicotine is generally recommended for light smokers or occasional smokers (fewer than 7 cigarettes per day), and a high dosage of 20 mg/ml nicotine salt for heavy smokers (1 packet of cigarettes or more). However, this dosage can be adjusted depending on your electronic cigarette and your vaping style.
Nicotine salt is a more stable form of nicotine that is smoother to inhale. It provides rapid absorption, with a less harsh throat hit, even at high strengths. Nicotine salt e-liquids are particularly suited to beginner vapers, former heavy smokers, and low-powered MTL kits. Various nicotine salt strengths are available. The most well-known and effective is 20 mg/ml, which is very suitable for heavy smokers. However, a 10 mg/ml strength can work very well for a regular or occasional smoker.
A nicotine booster is a nicotine-concentrated bottle designed to be added to a large-format e-liquid. It allows you to adjust the final nicotine level according to the quantity added. Flexible and cost-effective, this solution allows you to boost your large-format e-liquid to 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine. For a 50 ml e-liquid, adding one nicotine booster will give you 3 mg/ml, whilst two nicotine boosters will transform your e-liquid into 6 mg/ml.
The propylene glycol / vegetable glycerine ratio has a strong influence on the vape.
The choice therefore depends on the power and compatibility with your electronic cigarette. If in doubt, the most common ratio remains 50/50 PG/VG. Balanced, it allows versatile use on MTL, RDL and light DTL electronic cigarette models (between approximately 15 and 40 watts).
E-liquids with a vegetable base or Végétol replace traditional propylene glycol. They are often gentler on the throat, better tolerated by vapers who are sensitive to PG, and offer a smoother vape without compromising on flavour. However, they should be used in MTL with a low power setting (minimum 30 watts) to avoid the risk of leaks and to preserve the quality of the product.
Yes, CBD e-liquids are designed for vaping and generally do not contain nicotine. They offer a different sensation, focused on relaxation, with no addictive effect. They should be used at a moderate wattage to preserve the quality of the product. We recommend using them with an MTL e-cigarette with a tight draw.
E-liquids are considered a much healthier alternative to smoked tobacco. They are formulated from ingredients certified as safe for health, unlike the 7,000 harmful substances found in traditional cigarettes. Nevertheless, to choose a safe e-liquid, a few precautions should be taken, such as buying your e-liquid from a recognised retailer like Le Vapoteur Discount, or checking the composition and origin by favouring reputable and regulated brands.
An e-liquid manufactured in France meets strict requirements and European directives regarding traceability, quality control, and safety. As a guarantee of quality and transparency for the consumer, French and European brands generally have their own laboratory for developing their e-liquid formulas and are required to have this formulation assessed by an independent laboratory before placing it on the market. All these steps ensure that e-liquids are safe for vapers. These French and European quality standards prohibit undesirable substances and provide a more secure framework for vaping.
To keep your e-liquid as long as possible and preserve its quality, taste and colour, you should keep it in its original bottle and ideally away from light, heat and air. Despite these precautions, the e-liquid may sometimes take on a slightly brown tint. Safe and suitable for consumption, this colour is due to the oxidation of nicotine and may also depend on the flavouring used in the e-liquid. It is generally recommended not to keep the same e-liquid for more than 5 days in your clearomiser or pod cartridge if you are not using it, to avoid leaks and excessive oxidation.
The DLUO (Best Before Date) or BBD (Best Before Date) is an indicative date. Once the e-liquid's date has passed, it may lose its taste qualities and appearance (colour, fluidity). A factory-fresh e-liquid will have a BBD of approximately 2 years. Even past the BBD, the e-liquid remains suitable for vaporisation and will not be harmful to health.
