An e-liquid is a consumable intended exclusively for the electronic cigarette. The 60 ml format comes as a mix-and-vape pack: a partially filled bottle of nicotine-free e-liquid, accompanied by one or two 20 mg/ml nicotine boosters. Once the boosters have been poured into the bottle, you get 60 ml of e-liquid at 3 or 6 mg/ml. Its balanced 50/50 PG/VG ratio is suitable for most electronic cigarettes, both MTL and RDL.
The volume of e-liquid in the bottle is adjusted according to the number of boosters supplied, so that in both cases you obtain 60 ml of e-liquid at the stated strength:
| Final strength | Bottle | Boosters supplied | Final volume | Profile |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 mg/ml | 50 ml of nicotine-free e-liquid | 1 booster of 10 ml at 20 mg/ml | 60 ml | Occasional smoker |
| 6 mg/ml | 40 ml of nicotine-free e-liquid | 2 boosters of 10 ml at 20 mg/ml | 60 ml | Moderate smoker |
The nicotine strength is selected when ordering: it depends on the pack and cannot subsequently be changed without adding base or a booster.
Once mixing is complete, the bottle is filled to 60 ml: there is no room for an additional booster. For a different strength, 50 ml e-liquids and the 10 ml format allow you to adjust the dosage.
An e-liquid consists of a base of propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerine (VG), flavourings and, where applicable, nicotine. PG carries flavours and provides throat hit, while VG adds smoothness and vapour volume. In equal parts, the 50/50 ratio combines these two properties.

Thanks to its fluidity, a 50/50 e-liquid adequately saturates the coils in most tanks and pods, without being too thin for tight-draw models.
50/50 is compatible with the vast majority of electronic cigarettes. Here are the most suitable equipment categories and a few examples available from Le Vapoteur Discount:
| Equipment | Key points | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Electronic cigarettes | Complete kits (battery + tank), with simple or adjustable settings depending on the model. | Kit Q16 Pro – Justfog Kit PockeX Pocket AIO – Aspire Kit Coolfire Z80 Zenith 2 – Innokin |
| Pods | Compact format, refillable pods, use without complex settings. | Kit Luxe XR Max 2 – Vaporesso Kit Kiwi 2 – Kiwi Vapor Kit Pixo Max – Aspire |
| Tanks | Choose MTL or RDL models compatible with coils from 0.4 to 1.2 Ω. | Zenith 2 – Innokin Q16 Pro Plus – Justfog GOZ+ – Innokin Z Nano 3 – GeekVape |
The coil resistance and power determine the draw type. With a 60 ml 50/50 e-liquid vaped at 3 or 6 mg/ml, the following guidelines provide a stable vaping experience:
| Coil | Draw type | Suggested power |
|---|---|---|
| 1.0 to 1.2 Ω | MTL – tight draw, similar to a cigarette | 10 to 18 W |
| 0.6 to 0.9 Ω | MTL to RDL – intermediate draw | 15 to 25 W |
| 0.4 to 0.5 Ω | RDL – semi-airy draw | 25 to 40 W |
Always start at the lower end of the power range indicated on the coil, then increase gradually. For the drip tip, a 510 tip is suitable for most uses; an 810 drip tip can be used for RDL on tanks designed for this format.
Remember to recycle: empty bottles should be taken to suitable collection points.

An e-liquid (or liquid for electronic cigarettes) is the product that generates vapour when heated by the coil of an e-cigarette. Unlike traditional cigarettes, there is no combustion. The e-liquid is composed of a base (propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine), flavourings, and optionally nicotine. It determines the taste, the throat sensation, the cloud production, and the overall vaping experience.
An e-liquid generally contains four elements:
Some formulas also use alternative vegetable bases (Végétol) for a smoother experience.
An e-liquid with nicotine is intended for vapers who wish to replace traditional cigarettes. Nicotine acts on the sensation of satisfaction and reduces cravings. Nicotine-free e-liquids are used either at the end of a quit-smoking programme or purely for the pleasure of vaping, although it is not recommended to vape if you are not a smoker. The choice of nicotine level is essential to avoid a poor experience (irritation or cravings). The nicotine dosage depends on your previous cigarette consumption. A light smoker will not have the same needs as a heavy smoker. A level that is too low can lead to frustration and relapse, while a level that is too high can cause throat discomfort. The aim is to find a balance between hit, sensation and vaping comfort, adjusting progressively if needed. A low dosage of 0, 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine is generally recommended for light or occasional smokers (fewer than 7 cigarettes per day), and a high dosage of 20 mg/ml of nicotine salt for heavy smokers (one pack of cigarettes or more). However, this dosage can be adjusted according to your e-cigarette and your vaping style.
Nicotine salt is a more stable and smoother form of nicotine to inhale. It provides rapid absorption with a less harsh throat hit, even at high levels. Nicotine salt e-liquids are particularly suited to beginner vapers, former heavy smokers, and low-wattage MTL kits. Nicotine salts come in various strengths. The most well-known and effective is 20 mg/ml, which is highly suitable for heavy smokers. However, a 10 mg/ml dosage may work very well for a regular or occasional smoker.
A nicotine booster is a nicotine-concentrated bottle designed to be added to a large-format e-liquid. It allows you to adjust the final nicotine level according to the quantity added. Flexible and cost-effective, this solution lets you boost your large-format e-liquid to 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine. For a 50 ml e-liquid, adding one nicotine booster will give you 3 mg/ml; two nicotine boosters will bring your e-liquid up to 6 mg/ml.
The propylene glycol / vegetable glycerin ratio strongly influences the vaping experience.
The choice therefore depends on the wattage and compatibility with your e-cigarette. If in doubt, the most common ratio remains 50/50 PG/VG. Balanced, it allows versatile use across MTL, RDL and light DTL e-cigarette models (approximately between 15 and 40 watts).
Vegetable-based e-liquids or those made with Végétol replace traditional propylene glycol. They are often gentler on the throat, better tolerated by vapers who are sensitive to PG, and offer a smoother vape without compromising on flavour. However, they should be used in MTL mode at low wattage (minimum 30 watts) to avoid the risk of leaks and to preserve the quality of the product.
Yes, CBD e-liquids are designed for vaping and generally do not contain nicotine. They offer a different sensation, focused on relaxation, with no addictive effect. They should be used at moderate wattage to preserve the quality of the product. A tight-draw MTL e-cigarette is recommended for use with them.
E-liquids are considered a much healthier alternative to smoked tobacco. They are formulated from ingredients certified as safe for health, unlike the 7,000 harmful substances found in traditional cigarettes. Nevertheless, to choose a safe e-liquid, a few precautions should be taken, such as buying your e-liquid from a recognised retailer like Le Vapoteur Discount, or checking the composition and origin by choosing reputable and regulated brands.
An e-liquid manufactured in France meets strict requirements and European directives regarding traceability, quality control and safety. As a guarantee of quality and transparency for the consumer, French and European brands generally have their own laboratory for developing their e-liquid formulas, and are required to have these formulations assessed by an independent laboratory before going to market. All these steps ensure that e-liquids are safe for vapers. These French and European quality standards prohibit undesirable substances and provide a more secure framework for vaping.
To keep your e-liquid as long as possible and preserve its quality, taste and colour, store it in its original bottle, ideally away from light, heat and air. Despite these precautions, the e-liquid may sometimes take on a slightly brown tint. This is harmless and safe to use — the colour is caused by the oxidation of nicotine and may also depend on the flavouring used in the e-liquid. It is generally recommended not to keep the same e-liquid in your clearomiser or pod cartridge for more than 5 days if you are not using it, to avoid leaks and excessive oxidation.
The DLUO (Best Before Date) or BBD (Best Before Date) is an indicative date. Once the e-liquid's date has passed, it may lose its taste qualities and appearance (colour, fluidity). An e-liquid fresh from the factory will have a BBD of around 2 years. Even past the BBD, the e-liquid remains suitable for vaping and will not be harmful to health.
