Rechargeable puffs with or without nicotine: JNR, Tornado, Adalya, Liquideo

A puff is a compact e-cigarette designed to be used without any settings: no button, no menu; it activates when you inhale. This simplicity makes it a popular format both for people discovering vaping and experienced vapers looking for a discreet device to slip into a pocket. Since February 2025, disposable models have been banned in France: every puff sold today is rechargeable. The built-in battery recharges via USB-C and the e-liquid is renewed either by changing a cartridge or refilling a tank.

This catalogue brings together over a thousand products and a wide range of flavours (fruity, cool “ice” style, sweet, tobacco or shisha), from major vaping brands: JNR, Tornado, Liquideo, Elfbar, Al Fakher, Veev or GeekVape, with or without nicotine.

Cartridge models

A rechargeable battery takes prefilled cartridges, from 2 to 14 ml depending on the model. When the cartridge is empty, simply replace it with a new one: no bottles to handle, and you can change flavour or nicotine strength each time. Each cartridge has its own coil, renewed with every change: this is the simplest day-to-day solution. This is the principle behind Vuse, Veev, Pulp pods and several Elfbar and Wpuff models. Refillable models

The kit includes the device and one or more 10 ml bottles to pour into the tank. This is the format used by JNR, Tornado and the Vaporesso Dojo. Once the kit bottles are finished, you can continue with the e-liquid of your choice, in your preferred flavour and nicotine strength. On recent models, the cartridge or tank can also be replaced when the coil is worn out: you keep the battery.

Depending on the model, the kit includes the device with its rechargeable battery, one or more prefilled cartridges or e-liquid bottles, and sometimes a USB-C cable. Battery life in puffs

This is the first point to consider: it indicates the battery life stated by the manufacturer for the amount of e-liquid supplied in the kit. A 10,000 to 15,000-puff model is suitable for occasional use; above 30,000, it supports daily use for several days. Actual battery life depends on how you vape: the length and frequency of your puffs.

To choose directly by battery life: 10K, 12K, 15K, 24K, 25K, 26K, 28K, 30K, 32K, 33K, 35K, 37K, 40K, 42K, 45K, 50K and 100K.

Nicotine strength

• 20 mg/ml: the maximum strength permitted in France, in nicotine salts. This is the most common option (JNR, Tornado, Dojo, etc.).
• 10 mg/ml: available on some models, such as the JNR Falcon-X or Wilo Boost.
• 6 mg/ml: the strength used in shisha-style models, vaped with direct inhalation (JNR Shisha Pro, Al Fakher Crown Bar).
• 0 mg/ml: nicotine-free puffs, including the nicotine-free JNR selection.

The battery and its mAh capacity

Battery capacity is expressed in mAh (milliampere-hours). It ranges from approximately 500 mAh on cartridge pods to 1,500 mAh or even more on larger models. As a guide: 1000 mAh on the Vaporesso Dojo or Elfbar Nio 30K, 1500 mAh on the Elfbar EB 4in1, 1750 mAh on the Wpuff 15K. The higher the mAh value, the longer the battery life between charges; a 500 or 650 mAh battery simply needs charging more often. Models with a screen display the battery level and often the remaining e-liquid level too.

The draw

Most models offer a tight draw, similar to a cigarette (MTL). Some switch to a more open draw (RDL), while shisha-style models are designed for direct inhalation with denser vapour: they have their own section, electronic shisha.

The format

Slim pen format, box format with a screen, or dual model with two tanks: some devices, such as the JNR ZPluse 42K, combine two flavours in one kit, allowing you to switch between them as you wish.

Charging the battery

The device is charged with a USB-C cable. An indicator light or screen signals a low battery and then the end of charging. Use a charger in good condition and do not leave the device charging unattended.

Filling the tank

On a refillable model, open the filling cap, pour in the bottle without exceeding the indicated limit, then close it again. Before the first puff, wait a few minutes for the coil to soak up the e-liquid: this prevents a burnt taste.

When should cartridges be changed?

Weakening flavour or a burnt taste indicates a worn coil. On models with replaceable cartridges or tanks (JNR Falcon Nexus, Gorilla X, Stellarc, Météorite, etc.), simply change this part; the battery remains in use, extending the device's lifespan. On a prefilled cartridge model, this is not an issue: the coil is new with every cartridge.

JNR

With around twenty models, JNR is the broadest range in this section: the Falcon (Falcon-X 28K, Falcon Gem+ 30K), the replaceable-cartridge Falcon Nexus 40K, the AeroX 32K, the Stellarc 50K, the Gorilla X 43K, the dual-flavour ZPluse 42K, or the Météorite 100K. Each kit comes with JNR e-liquid bottles, most often containing 20 mg/ml nicotine salts.

Tornado

Tornado models are designed with renowned e-liquid manufacturers, such as White Rabbit, Cebueno and Ben Northon. With battery life from 10,000 to 25,000 puffs, they cover fruity, sweet and tobacco profiles.

Liquideo Wpuff

The Liquideo Wpuff, from the French e-liquid manufacturer, comes in several formats: the Wpuff 15K with 12 ml cartridges in 10 or 20 mg/ml (1750 mAh battery), the Wpuff 12K with a 14 ml pod, and the Wpuff 1800 Pod System, compatible with nicotine-free cartridges or cartridges in 9 and 17 mg/ml.

Vaporesso Dojo

The Vaporesso Dojo is designed with a dual tank: a ready-to-use 10 ml device and a second identical tank, providing 20 ml of e-liquid with nicotine salts at 20 mg/ml for approximately 30,000 puffs. 1000 mAh battery, USB-C charging.

Elfbar

Elfbar offers models between a puff and pod: the Nio 30K (1000 mAh battery, screen, two 12 ml cartridges at 20 mg/ml), the EB 4in1 combining four flavours in one device (1500 mAh), and the Elfa Pro kit with 2 ml cartridges.

Veev and Vuse: the simplicity of cartridges

The Veev One works with 2 ml prefilled cartridges, available in several flavours and in 9 or 20 mg/ml, and is sold as a kit with its first cartridges. Vuse follows the same principle with its Vuse Pro kits, including the One Bar: recharge the battery, change the cartridge.

Al Fakher, Adalya and Starbuzz: shisha flavours

Three historic shisha tobacco names offer their recipes in rechargeable formats: Al Fakher with its Crown Bar range, Adalya and Starbuzz.

E-liquid manufacturers

Several e-liquid brands offer their own models featuring their recipes: Fighter Fuel, Liquidarom and Pulp, whose Switch, Flip and Slim pods work with prefilled cartridges.

A refillable model accepts most 50/50 PG/VG e-liquids. To retain the same experience as with the kit bottles, choose a nicotine salt e-liquid at the same strength. JNR e-liquids feature the brand's flavours, while the France-made Puff Attack range is designed for rechargeable models: 10 ml of nicotine salts from 5 to 20 mg/ml, or 50 ml nicotine-free.

Are disposable puffs still permitted?

No. Since February 2025, the sale of disposable models has been banned in France. Every model sold today is rechargeable: recharge the battery and replace the cartridge or e-liquid.

How long does a rechargeable puff last?

Stated battery life ranges from 10,000 to more than 100,000 puffs depending on the model. As the battery is rechargeable and the e-liquid can be renewed, the device's lifespan mainly depends on the coil, which is changed with the cartridge on relevant models.

Can any e-liquid be used?

Refillable models accept most 50/50 PG/VG e-liquids. Cartridge models, on the other hand, can only be used with their compatible cartridges.

What is the difference from a classic e-cigarette?
