An e-liquid is a consumable intended exclusively for e-cigarettes. The 60 ml format comes as a mix-to-make pack: a partially filled bottle of nicotine-free e-liquid, accompanied by one or two 20 mg/ml nicotine boosters. Once the boosters have been poured into the bottle, you get 60 ml of e-liquid at 3 or 6 mg/ml. Its balanced 50/50 PG/VG ratio is suitable for most e-cigarettes, for both MTL and RDL vaping.
The volume of e-liquid in the bottle is adjusted according to the number of boosters supplied, so that in both cases you obtain 60 ml of e-liquid at the stated strength:
| Final strength | Bottle | Boosters supplied | Final volume | Profile |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 mg/ml | 50 ml of nicotine-free e-liquid | 1 booster of 10 ml at 20 mg/ml | 60 ml | Occasional smoker |
| 6 mg/ml | 40 ml of nicotine-free e-liquid | 2 boosters of 10 ml at 20 mg/ml | 60 ml | Moderate smoker |
The nicotine strength is selected when ordering: it depends on the pack and cannot then be changed without adding base or a booster.
The bottle is filled to 60 ml once mixing is complete: there is no room for an additional booster. For a different strength, 50 ml e-liquids and the 10 ml format allow you to adjust the dosage.
An e-liquid consists of a base of propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerine (VG), flavourings and, where applicable, nicotine. PG carries the flavours and throat hit, while VG provides smoothness and vapour volume. In equal parts, the 50/50 ratio combines these two properties.

Thanks to its fluidity, a 50/50 e-liquid properly saturates the coils in most clearomisers and pods, without being too thin for tight-draw models.
50/50 is compatible with the vast majority of e-cigarettes. Here are the most suitable types of equipment and a few examples available from Le Vapoteur Discount:
| Equipment | Key points | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| E-cigarettes | Complete kits (battery + clearomiser), with simple or adjustable settings depending on the model. | Kit Q16 Pro – Justfog Kit PockeX Pocket AIO – Aspire Kit Coolfire Z80 Zenith 2 – Innokin |
| Pods | Compact format, refillable pods, no complex settings required. | Kit Luxe XR Max 2 – Vaporesso Kit Kiwi 2 – Kiwi Vapor Kit Pixo Max – Aspire |
| Clearomisers | Choose MTL or RDL models compatible with coils from 0.4 to 1.2 Ω. | Zenith 2 – Innokin Q16 Pro Plus – Justfog GOZ+ – Innokin Z Nano 3 – GeekVape |
The coil resistance and power determine the draw type. With a 50/50 60 ml e-liquid, vaped at 3 or 6 mg/ml, the following guidelines provide stable vaping:
| Coil | Draw type | Recommended power |
|---|---|---|
| 1.0 to 1.2 Ω | MTL – tight draw, close to a cigarette | 10 to 18 W |
| 0.6 to 0.9 Ω | MTL to RDL – intermediate draw | 15 to 25 W |
| 0.4 to 0.5 Ω | RDL – semi-airy draw | 25 to 40 W |
Always start at the bottom of the power range stated on the coil, then increase gradually. For the drip tip, a 510 mouthpiece is suitable for most uses; an 810 drip tip can be used for RDL with clearomisers designed for this format.
Remember to recycle: empty bottles should be taken to appropriate collection points.

An e-liquid (or electronic cigarette liquid) is the product that generates vapour when heated by the coil of an electronic cigarette. Unlike traditional cigarettes, there is no combustion. An e-liquid is composed of a base (propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin), flavourings, and optionally nicotine. It determines the taste, throat hit, cloud production, and overall vaping experience.
An e-liquid generally contains four elements:
Some formulas also use alternative vegetable bases (Végétol) for added smoothness.
An e-liquid with nicotine is intended for vapers who wish to replace traditional cigarettes. Nicotine acts on the feeling of satisfaction and helps reduce cravings. E-liquids without nicotine are used either at the end of a quitting process, or purely for the pleasure of vaping, although it is not recommended to vape if you are not a smoker. Choosing the right nicotine strength is essential to avoid a poor experience (irritation or cravings). The nicotine dosage depends on your previous cigarette consumption. A light smoker will not have the same needs as a heavy smoker. A strength that is too low can lead to frustration and relapse, while a strength that is too high can cause throat discomfort. The goal is to find a balance between hit, sensation, and vaping comfort, adjusting gradually as needed. We generally recommend a low dosage of 0, 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine for light or occasional smokers (fewer than 7 cigarettes per day), and a high dosage of 20 mg/ml of nicotine salt for heavy smokers (one pack of cigarettes or more). However, this dosage can be adjusted depending on your e-cigarette and your vaping style.
Nicotine salt is a more stable form of nicotine that is smoother to inhale. It provides rapid absorption with a less harsh throat hit, even at high concentrations. Nicotine salt e-liquids are particularly suited to beginner vapers, former heavy smokers, and low-wattage MTL kits. Different nicotine salt strengths are available. The most well-known and effective is 20 mg/ml, which is well suited for heavy smokers. However, a 10 mg/ml strength may be perfectly suitable for a regular or occasional smoker.
A nicotine booster is a nicotine-concentrated bottle designed to be added to a large-format e-liquid. It allows you to adjust the final nicotine strength depending on the quantity added. Flexible and cost-effective, this solution allows you to boost your large-format e-liquid to 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine. For a 50 ml e-liquid, adding one nicotine booster will result in 3 mg/ml, while adding two nicotine boosters will bring your e-liquid to 6 mg/ml.
The propylene glycol / vegetable glycerin ratio strongly influences the vaping experience.
The choice depends on the power and compatibility with your electronic cigarette. If in doubt, the most common ratio remains 50/50 PG/VG. Balanced, it allows versatile use on MTL, RDL and light DTL electronic cigarette models (between approximately 15 and 40 watts).
E-liquids with a vegetable base or Végétol replace traditional propylene glycol. They are often gentler on the throat, better tolerated by vapers sensitive to PG, and provide a smoother vape without compromising on flavour. However, they should be used in MTL mode at low wattage (minimum 30 watts) to avoid leakage risks and preserve product quality.
Yes, CBD e-liquids are designed for vaping and generally do not contain nicotine. They offer a different sensation, focused on relaxation, with no addictive effect. They should be used at moderate wattage to preserve the quality of the product. A MTL e-cigarette with a tight draw is recommended for use with them.
E-liquids are considered a much healthier alternative to smoked tobacco. They are formulated from ingredients certified as safe for health, unlike the 7,000 harmful substances found in traditional cigarettes. Nevertheless, to choose a safe e-liquid, a few precautions should be taken, such as purchasing from a recognised retailer like Le Vapoteur Discount, or checking the composition and origin by favouring reputable and regulated brands.
An e-liquid manufactured in France meets strict requirements and European directives regarding traceability, quality control and safety. As a guarantee of quality and transparency for the consumer, French and European brands generally have their own laboratory for developing their e-liquid formula and are required to have that formulation assessed by an independent laboratory before it is placed on the market. All these steps ensure that e-liquids are safe for vapers. These French and European quality standards prohibit undesirable substances and provide a more secure framework for vaping.
To keep your e-liquid for as long as possible and preserve its quality, taste and colour, store it in its original bottle, ideally away from light, heat and air. Despite these precautions, the e-liquid may sometimes take on a slightly brown tint. Safe and fit for consumption, this colour is caused by the oxidation of nicotine and may also depend on the flavouring used in the e-liquid. It is generally advisable not to leave the same e-liquid in your clearomiser or pod cartridge for more than 5 days if you are not using it, to avoid leaks and excessive oxidation.
The DLUO (Date Limite d'Utilisation Optimale) or BBD (Best Before Date) is an indicative date. Once the e-liquid's date has passed, it may lose its flavour qualities and appearance (colour, consistency). An e-liquid straight from the factory will have a BBD of approximately 2 years. Even past its BBD, the e-liquid remains safe to vape and will not be harmful to health.
