The Le Vapoteur Discount guide to choosing your 10 ml e-liquid
Essential to any e-cigarette, the e-liquid is the heart of your vaping experience. The 10 ml format is currently the only one permitted to contain nicotine under European regulations. Compact, practical and easy to carry, it allows you to try a flavor, adjust your nicotine level or vape daily with ease.
It is also the ideal format to support a reduction or smoking cessation journey, at your own pace.
What nicotine level should you choose for your e-liquid?
The right nicotine level depends above all on your smoker profile and your habits. The goal is to satisfy the craving without discomfort, while maintaining an enjoyable vaping experience.
-
Light smoker (fewer than 5 cigarettes per day)
0 to 6 mg/ml
A gentle dosage, sufficient to curb the urge to smoke while offering a light throat sensation. -
Moderate smoker (5 to 15 cigarettes per day)
6 to 12 mg/ml
An ideal balance to rediscover a sensation close to a classic cigarette, without frustration. -
Heavy smoker (more than 15 cigarettes per day)
12 to 18 mg/ml
A higher level, designed to meet a significant nicotine need, especially at the start of cessation. -
Heavy smoker (more than 20 cigarettes per day)
18 to 20 mg/ml
The maximum permitted dosage, often associated with nicotine salts, for faster absorption and a smoother sensation.
These guidelines remain reference points: every vaper is unique. Your personal experience, the throat hit and the equipment used may lead you to adjust your dosage.
What equipment should you use with a fluid PG-rich e-liquid (80/20 to 60/40)?
Thanks to their high propylene glycol content, these e-liquids are fluid, highly aromatic and deliver a pronounced hit. They are perfectly suited for indirect vaping (MTL), close to the sensation of a cigarette.
E-cigarette
PG-rich e-liquids perform at their best on compact models focused on flavor rendering, such as:
- GeekVape Wenax M2 Kit: a very compact and elegant tube format;
- GeekVape Aegis Solo 3 MTL Kit: a larger box format, but extremely robust;
- Vaporesso GTX One Pro Kit: the modern version of Vaporesso's best-seller in a compact box format;
- Voopoo Drag S3 Kit: a halfway point between a box mod and a pod with excellent battery life.
Pods
They also work very well with high-performance pods that are easy to use:
- Aspire Pixo Neo Kit: a model with incredible flavor rendering equipped with a good 1300 mAh battery;
- Voopoo Argus G3 Kit: Voopoo's best-seller in a highly refined design;
- Innokin Klypse Pro Kit: a long, slim pod equipped with a drip tip protector.
Clearomizers
For optimal flavor rendering, opt for MTL-oriented clearomizers, such as:
- GeekVape Z Nano MTL: an excellent GeekVape clearomizer with a tight draw;
- Justfog Q16 Pro: a timeless clearomizer, tall, slim and practical for everyday use;
- Aspire Nautilus 3SR: the new generation Nautilus for connoisseurs.
Coils
Ideally, opt for small coils between 1.2 ohm and 1.8 ohm, for a smooth, economical and flavorful vape.
Drip tip mouthpiece
A drip tip 510, slim and elongated, is recommended to concentrate the aromas and enhance the mouthfeel.
What vaping wattage should you choose?
PG-rich e-liquids do not require high wattage.
A vape under 20 watts is more than enough to fully enjoy the flavors, while preserving the lifespan of the coils.
Properly maintaining your e-cigarette
Regular maintenance is essential to ensure a healthy, flavorful and long-lasting vape:
- Regularly clean the clearomizer and drip tip to avoid the build-up of residue;
- Replace the coil as soon as flavors deteriorate or vapor decreases (on average every 2 to 3 weeks) and take the opportunity to thoroughly clean your clearomizer;
- Avoid leaving a filled tank with the same e-liquid for more than 5 days without use, in order to limit the risk of leaks or flavor degradation.
Usage precautions
- If you do not smoke, do not vape;
- Product containing nicotine: prohibited for minors, not recommended for pregnant women or people with cardiovascular disorders or hypertension;
- In case of allergies, check for the possible presence of allergens (limonene, tree nuts, etc.) indicated on the label;
- In case of skin contact, rinse thoroughly with water and soap;
- Store your e-liquids in a dry place, away from light and temperature variations, out of reach of children and animals.
Think about recycling: empty bottles must be disposed of through appropriate channels.

FAQ
An e-liquid (or electronic cigarette liquid) is the product that generates vapour when heated by the coil of an electronic cigarette. Unlike traditional cigarettes, there is no combustion. The e-liquid is made up of a base (propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine), flavourings, and optionally nicotine. It determines the taste, throat hit, cloud production, and overall vaping experience.
An e-liquid generally contains four elements:
- propylene glycol (PG), which carries the flavours, enhances the throat hit and provides a sensation close to that of a cigarette;
- vegetable glycerin (VG), responsible for the vapour and the density of the cloud;
- flavourings, which provide the taste (fruit, mint, classic blonde, dessert, ice…);
- nicotine, optional, which helps manage cravings for vapers who are quitting smoking.
An e-liquid with nicotine is intended for vapers who wish to replace traditional cigarettes. Nicotine acts on the feeling of satisfaction and reduces cravings. E-liquids without nicotine are used either at the end of a quit-smoking programme, or purely for the pleasure of vaping, although it is not recommended to vape if you are not a smoker. Choosing the right nicotine level is essential to avoid a bad experience (throat irritation or cravings).
The nicotine dosage depends on your previous cigarette consumption. A light smoker will not have the same needs as a heavy smoker. A level that is too low can lead to frustration and relapse, while a level that is too high can cause throat discomfort. The aim is to find a balance between throat hit, sensation and vaping comfort, adjusting gradually as needed.
A low dosage of 0, 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine is generally recommended for light or occasional smokers (fewer than 7 cigarettes per day), and a high dosage of 20 mg/ml of nicotine salt for heavy smokers (1 packet of cigarettes or more). However, this dosage can be adjusted depending on your e-cigarette and your vaping style.
Nicotine salt is a more stable and smoother form of nicotine to inhale. It provides rapid absorption, with a less harsh throat hit, even at high strengths. Nicotine salt e-liquids are particularly suited to beginner vapers, former heavy smokers, and low-wattage MTL kits.
There are different nicotine salt strengths. The most well-known and effective being 20 mg/ml, highly suitable for heavy smokers. However, a 10 mg/ml strength can work very well for a regular or occasional smoker.
A nicotine booster is a concentrated nicotine bottle, designed to be added to a large-format e-liquid. It allows you to adjust the final nicotine level depending on the quantity added. Flexible and economical, this solution allows you to boost your large-format e-liquid to 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine. For a 50 ml e-liquid, adding one nicotine booster will give you 3 mg/ml, while two nicotine boosters will transform your e-liquid into 6 mg/ml.
The propylene glycol / vegetable glycerine ratio strongly influences the vape.
- An e-liquid rich in propylene glycol or PG (70/30, 80/20) favours the throat hit, flavour accuracy and a discreet vape. The e-liquid will be fluid and compatible only with MTL devices with a tight draw to avoid leaks.
- An e-liquid rich in vegetable glycerine or VG (30/70) produces more vapour and clouds, with a softer, sweeter sensation. This thicker e-liquid will be compatible with sub-ohm or shisha-type electronic cigarettes, producing large clouds of vapour at high power.
E-liquids with a vegetable base or Végétol replace traditional propylene glycol. They are often gentler on the throat, better tolerated by vapers who are sensitive to PG, and offer a smoother vape without compromising on flavour. However, they should be used in MTL with a low wattage (minimum 30 watts) to avoid the risk of leaks and preserve the quality of the product.
Yes, CBD e-liquids are designed for vaping and generally do not contain nicotine. They offer a different experience, focused on relaxation, without any addictive effect. They should be used at a moderate wattage to preserve the quality of the product. A MTL electronic cigarette with a tight draw is recommended.
E-liquids are considered a much healthier alternative to smoked tobacco. They are formulated from ingredients certified as safe for health, unlike the 7,000 harmful substances found in traditional cigarettes. Nevertheless, to choose a safe e-liquid, a few precautions should be taken, such as buying your e-liquid from a recognised retailer like Le Vapoteur Discount or checking the composition and origin by favouring reputable and regulated brands.
An e-liquid manufactured in France meets strict requirements and European directives regarding traceability, control, and safety. As a guarantee of quality and transparency for the consumer, French and European brands generally have their own laboratory for developing their e-liquid formula and are required to have this formulation studied by an independent laboratory before bringing it to market. All these steps ensure that e-liquids are safe for vapers. These French and European quality standards prohibit undesirable substances and provide a more secure framework for vaping.
To keep your e-liquid as long as possible and preserve its quality, taste and colour, you should keep it in its original bottle and ideally away from light, heat and air. Despite these precautions, the e-liquid may take on a slightly brown tint. Safe and fit for consumption, this colour is due to the oxidation of the nicotine and may also depend on the flavouring used in the e-liquid. It is generally recommended not to keep the same e-liquid for more than 5 days in your clearomiser or pod cartridge if you are not using it, to avoid leaks and excessive oxidation.
The DLUO (Date Limite d'Utilisation Optimale) or BBD (Best Before Date) is an indicative date. Once the e-liquid's date has passed, it may lose its taste qualities and appearance (colour, fluidity). An e-liquid straight from the factory will have a BBD of approximately 2 years. Even past the BBD, the e-liquid remains suitable for vaping and will not be harmful to health.
