The best before date (BBD) or minimum durability date (MDD) is an indicative date. Once the e-liquid's date has passed, it may lose its taste qualities and its appearance (colour, consistency). A factory-fresh e-liquid will have a MDD of approximately 2 years. Even past the MDD, the e-liquid remains safe for vaporisation and will not be harmful to health.
