Le Vapoteur Discount guide to choosing your 10 ml e-liquid

Essential for any electronic cigarette, e-liquid is the heart of your vaping experience. The 10 ml format is currently the only one permitted to contain nicotine under European regulations. Compact, practical and easy to carry, it allows you to try a flavour, adjust your nicotine level or vape daily with complete ease.
It is also the ideal format for supporting a tobacco reduction or cessation journey, at your own pace.

What nicotine level should you choose for your e-liquid?

The right nicotine level depends above all on your smoker profile and your habits. The goal is to satisfy the craving without discomfort, while maintaining an enjoyable vape.

  • Light smoker (fewer than 5 cigarettes per day)
    0 to 6 mg/ml
    A mild dosage, sufficient to curb the urge to smoke while offering a light throat sensation.

  • Moderate smoker (5 to 15 cigarettes per day)
    6 to 12 mg/ml
    An ideal balance to replicate the sensation of a classic cigarette without frustration.

  • Heavy smoker (more than 15 cigarettes per day)
    12 to 18 mg/ml
    A higher level, designed to meet a significant nicotine need, particularly at the start of withdrawal.

  • Heavy smoker (more than 20 cigarettes per day)
    18 to 20 mg/ml
    The maximum permitted dosage, often associated with nicotine salts, for faster absorption and a smoother sensation.

These indications are guidelines only: every vaper is different. Your personal experience, throat hit and the device used may lead you to adjust your dosage.

What equipment should you use with a fluid PG-rich e-liquid (80/20 to 60/40)?

Thanks to their high propylene glycol content, these e-liquids are fluid, highly aromatic and deliver a noticeable hit. They are perfectly suited to indirect (MTL) vaping, close to the sensation of a cigarette.

Electronic cigarette

PG-rich e-liquids perform at their best on compact, flavour-focused devices such as:

Pods

They also work very well with high-performance pods that are simple to use:

Clearomizers

For optimal flavour delivery, choose MTL-oriented clearomizers, such as:

Coils

Ideally, small coils between 1.2 ohm and 1.8 ohm are recommended for a smooth, economical and flavourful vape.

Drip tip mouthpiece

A slim and elongated drip tip 510 is recommended to concentrate flavours and enhance the sensation in the mouth.

What vaping wattage should you use?

PG-rich e-liquids do not require high wattage.
Vaping at under 20 watts is more than sufficient to fully enjoy the flavours while extending coil life.

Taking care of your electronic cigarette

Regular maintenance is essential to ensure a healthy, flavourful and long-lasting vape:

  • Regularly clean the clearomizer and the drip tip to prevent the build-up of residue;
  • Replace the coil as soon as flavours deteriorate or vapour production decreases (on average every 2 to 3 weeks) and take the opportunity to thoroughly clean your clearomizer;
  • Avoid leaving a tank filled with the same e-liquid for more than 5 days without use, to limit the risk of leaks or flavour degradation.

Usage precautions

  • If you do not smoke, do not vape;
  • Product containing nicotine: prohibited for minors, not recommended for pregnant women or people with cardiovascular disorders or high blood pressure;
  • In case of allergies, check for the possible presence of allergens (limonene, tree nuts, etc.) indicated on the label;
  • In case of skin contact, rinse thoroughly with water and soap;
  • Store your e-liquids in a dry place, away from light and temperature variations, out of reach of children and animals.

Think about recycling: empty bottles must be disposed of through appropriate channels.

    Pas extrêmement fort en goût mais cela ressemble vraiment à du cola glacé et surtout ne laisse pas de goût sucré doucâtre dans la bouche comme certains autres produits sucrés. donc j'aime.

FAQ

An e-liquid (or electronic cigarette liquid) is the product that generates vapour when heated by the coil of an electronic cigarette. Unlike traditional cigarettes, there is no combustion. The e-liquid is composed of a base (propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin), flavourings, and optionally nicotine. It determines the taste, throat hit, cloud production, and overall vaping experience.

An e-liquid generally contains four elements:
  • propylene glycol (PG), which carries the flavours, enhances the throat hit and provides a sensation close to that of a cigarette;
  • vegetable glycerin (VG), responsible for the vapour and the density of the cloud;
  • the flavourings, which give the taste (fruit, mint, classic tobacco, dessert, ice…);
  • nicotine, optional, which helps manage cravings for vapers who are cutting down.
Some formulas also use alternative vegetable bases (Végétol) for a smoother experience.

An e-liquid with nicotine is intended for vapers who wish to replace traditional cigarettes. Nicotine acts on the feeling of satisfaction and limits cravings. E-liquids without nicotine are used either at the end of the quitting process, or purely for the pleasure of vaping, although it is not recommended to vape if you are not a smoker. The choice of nicotine level is essential to avoid a poor experience (throat irritation or cravings). The nicotine dosage depends on your previous cigarette consumption. A light smoker will not have the same needs as a heavy smoker. A level that is too low can lead to frustration and relapse, whilst a level that is too high can cause throat discomfort. The goal is to find a balance between throat hit, sensation and vaping comfort, adjusting gradually as needed. We generally recommend a low dosage of 0, 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine for light smokers or occasional smokers (fewer than 7 cigarettes per day), and a high dosage of 20 mg/ml of nicotine salt for heavy smokers (1 packet of cigarettes or more). However, this dosage can be adjusted depending on your e-cigarette and your vaping style.

Nicotine salt is a more stable form of nicotine that is smoother to inhale. It provides rapid absorption, with a less harsh throat hit, even at high strengths. Nicotine salt e-liquids are particularly suited to beginner vapers, former heavy smokers, and low-wattage MTL kits. There are different nicotine salt strengths. The best known and most effective is 20 mg/ml, which is very well suited to heavy smokers. However, a 10 mg/ml strength can work very well for a regular or occasional smoker.

A nicotine booster is a concentrated nicotine bottle, designed to be added to a large-format e-liquid. It allows you to adjust the final nicotine level depending on the quantity added. Flexible and economical, this solution allows you to boost your large-format e-liquid to 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine. For a 50 ml e-liquid, adding one nicotine booster will give you 3 mg/ml, while two nicotine boosters will turn your e-liquid into 6 mg/ml.

The propylene glycol / vegetable glycerine ratio strongly influences the vape.
  • An e-liquid rich in propylene glycol or PG (70/30, 80/20) enhances the throat hit, flavour precision and a discreet vape. The e-liquid will be fluid and compatible only with MTL equipment with a tight draw to avoid leaks.
  • An e-liquid rich in vegetable glycerine or VG (30/70) produces more vapour and clouds, with a softer, sweeter sensation. This thicker e-liquid will be compatible with sub-ohm or shisha-type e-cigarettes, producing large clouds of vapour at high power.
The choice therefore depends on the power and compatibility with your e-cigarette. If in doubt, the most common ratio remains 50/50 PG/VG. Balanced, it allows versatile use on MTL, RDL and light DTL e-cigarette models (between approximately 15 and 40 watts).

E-liquids with a vegetable base or Végétol replace traditional propylene glycol. They are often gentler on the throat, better tolerated by vapers who are sensitive to PG, and offer a smoother vape without compromising on flavour. However, they should be used in MTL with a low wattage (minimum 30 watts) to avoid the risk of leaks and preserve the quality of the product.

Yes, CBD e-liquids are designed for vaping and generally contain no nicotine. They offer a different sensation, focused on relaxation, with no addictive effect. They should be used at moderate power to preserve the quality of the product. A MTL electronic cigarette with a tight draw is recommended.

E-liquids are considered a much healthier alternative to smoked tobacco. They are formulated from ingredients certified as safe for health, unlike the 7,000 harmful substances found in traditional cigarettes. Nevertheless, to choose a safe e-liquid, a few precautions should be taken, such as buying your e-liquid from a recognised retailer like Le Vapoteur Discount or checking the composition and origin by favouring reputable and regulated brands.

An e-liquid manufactured in France meets strict requirements and European directives regarding traceability, control and safety. As a guarantee of quality and transparency for the consumer, French and European brands generally have their own laboratory for developing their e-liquid formula and are required to have this formulation studied by an independent laboratory before placing it on the market. All these steps ensure that e-liquids are safe for vapers. These French and European quality standards prohibit undesirable substances and offer a more secure framework for vaping.

To keep your e-liquid for as long as possible and preserve its quality, taste and colour, you should store it in its original bottle and ideally away from light, heat and air. Despite these precautions, the e-liquid may sometimes take on a slightly brown tint. Safe and suitable for consumption, this colour is due to the oxidation of the nicotine and may also depend on the flavouring used in the e-liquid. It is generally recommended not to keep the same e-liquid in your clearomiser or pod cartridge for more than 5 days if you are not using it, to avoid leaks and excessive oxidation.

The DLUO (Date Limite d'Utilisation Optimale) or BBD (Best Before Date) is an indicative date. Once the e-liquid's date has passed, it may lose its taste qualities and appearance (colour, fluidity). An e-liquid fresh from the factory will have a BBD of approximately 2 years. Even past the BBD, the e-liquid remains suitable for vaping and will not be harmful to health.
