An e-liquid is a consumable intended exclusively for electronic cigarettes. The 200 ml format is sold nicotine-free and can be vaped as is at 0 mg/ml. To add nicotine, prepare the mixture in a large graduated empty bottle, allowing you to measure boosters precisely. Its balanced 50/50 PG/VG ratio suits most electronic cigarettes, for both MTL and RDL vaping.
Adding a booster is optional: 200 ml e-liquid can be vaped perfectly without nicotine. If you want nicotine, the number of boosters added determines the final strength:
| Boosters added (10 ml at 20 mg/ml) | Final volume | Strength obtained | Container | Profile |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| None | 200 ml | 0 mg/ml | Original bottle | Nicotine-free vaping, flavour enjoyment |
| 2 boosters | 220 ml | ≈ 2 mg/ml | Large graduated bottle | Very low nicotine requirement |
| 4 boosters | 240 ml | ≈ 3 mg/ml | Large graduated bottle | Occasional smoker |
The resulting strengths are rounded (1.8 and 3.3 mg/ml exactly). A 250 ml bottle can hold a maximum of four boosters, limiting this format to low strengths. For higher nicotine requirements, 50 ml and 10 ml formats or nicotine salts are more suitable.
Le Vapoteur Discount boosters come in 10 ml bottles (strength shown on each product page). The nicotine type and base alter the throat sensation:
| Booster | Sensation | Who is it for? |
|---|---|---|
| 50/50 nicotine booster | Classic hit, neutral flavour | The standard choice, suitable for all 50/50 e-liquids |
| 70/30 nicotine booster | More pronounced hit, enhanced flavours | MTL vaping, for those seeking a sensation close to a cigarette |
| Fresh 50/50 nicotine booster | Classic hit with a refreshing touch | Fans of fresh fruity or menthol flavours |
| Nicotine Salt Booster | Very smooth throat hit | Vapers sensitive to throat hit or seeking a smoother experience |
| Fresh Nicotine Salt Booster | Smooth, fresh hit | The smoothness of salts with a fresh note |
| Hybrid Nicotine Booster | Balance between hit and smoothness | A compromise between classic nicotine and nicotine salts |

An e-liquid consists of a propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerine (VG) base, flavourings and, where applicable, nicotine. PG carries flavours and provides throat hit, while VG adds smoothness and vapour volume. In equal proportions, the 50/50 ratio combines these two properties.

Thanks to its fluidity, a 50/50 e-liquid properly saturates the coils of most clearomizers and pods, without being too thin for tight-draw models.
50/50 is compatible with the vast majority of electronic cigarettes. Here are the most suitable equipment families and some examples available from Le Vapoteur Discount:
| Equipment | Key features | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Electronic cigarettes | Complete kits (battery + clearomizer), with simple or adjustable settings depending on the model. | Kit Q16 Pro – Justfog Kit PockeX Pocket AIO – Aspire Kit Coolfire Z80 Zenith 2 – Innokin |
| Pods | Compact format, refillable cartridges, no complex settings required. | Kit Luxe XR Max 2 – Vaporesso Kit Kiwi 2 – Kiwi Vapor Kit Pixo Max – Aspire |
| Clearomizers | Choose MTL or RDL models compatible with coils from 0.4 to 1.2 Ω. | Zenith 2 – Innokin Q16 Pro Plus – Justfog GOZ+ – Innokin Z Nano 3 – GeekVape |
The coil resistance value and power determine the draw type. With a 50/50 200 ml e-liquid, vaped at 0 to 3 mg/ml, the following guidelines provide stable vaping:
| Coil | Draw type | Suggested power |
|---|---|---|
| 1.0 to 1.2 Ω | MTL – tight draw, close to a cigarette | 10 to 18 W |
| 0.6 to 0.9 Ω | MTL to RDL – intermediate draw | 15 to 25 W |
| 0.4 to 0.5 Ω | RDL – semi-airy draw | 25 to 40 W |
Always start at the lower end of the power range indicated on the coil, then increase gradually. For the drip tip, a 510 mouthpiece suits most uses; an 810 drip tip can be used for RDL vaping on clearomizers designed for this format.
Remember to recycle: empty bottles should be taken to suitable collection points.

An e-liquid (or liquid for e-cigarettes) is the product that generates vapour when heated by the coil of an e-cigarette. Unlike traditional cigarettes, there is no combustion. The e-liquid is made up of a base (propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin), flavourings, and optionally nicotine. It determines the taste, the throat sensation, cloud production, and the overall vaping experience.
An e-liquid generally contains four elements:
Some formulas also use alternative plant-based bases (Végétol) for a smoother experience.
An e-liquid with nicotine is intended for vapers who want to replace traditional cigarettes. Nicotine acts on the feeling of satisfaction and reduces cravings. Nicotine-free e-liquids are used either at the end of a cessation programme or purely for the pleasure of vaping, although it is not recommended to vape if you are not a smoker. Choosing the right nicotine level is essential to avoid a bad experience (throat irritation or cravings). The nicotine dosage depends on your previous cigarette consumption. A light smoker will not have the same needs as a heavy smoker. A level that is too low can lead to frustration and relapse, while a level that is too high can cause throat discomfort. The goal is to find a balance between hit, sensation and vaping comfort, adjusting gradually as needed. A low dosage of 0, 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine is generally recommended for light smokers or occasional smokers (fewer than 7 cigarettes per day), and a high dosage of 20 mg/ml nicotine salt for a heavy smoker (1 packet of cigarettes or more). However, this dosage can be adjusted depending on your e-cigarette and your vaping style.
Nicotine salt is a more stable form of nicotine that is smoother to inhale. It provides rapid absorption with a less harsh throat hit, even at high levels. Nicotine salt e-liquids are particularly suited to beginner vapers, former heavy smokers and low-power MTL kits. Various nicotine salt dosages are available. The best-known and most effective is 20 mg/ml, highly suitable for heavy smokers. However, a dosage of 10 mg/ml can work very well for a regular or occasional smoker.
A nicotine shot is a concentrated nicotine bottle designed to be added to a large-format e-liquid. It allows you to adjust the final nicotine level depending on the quantity added. Flexible and economical, this solution lets you boost your large-format e-liquid to 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine. For a 50 ml e-liquid, adding one nicotine shot will give you 3 mg/ml; adding two nicotine shots will turn your e-liquid into 6 mg/ml.
The propylene glycol / vegetable glycerin ratio has a strong influence on the vaping experience.
The choice therefore depends on the power and compatibility with your e-cigarette. If in doubt, the most common ratio remains 50/50 PG/VG. Balanced, it allows versatile use across MTL, RDL and light DTL e-cigarette models (approximately between 15 and 40 watts).
Plant-based or Végétol e-liquids replace traditional propylene glycol. They are often gentler on the throat, better tolerated by vapers who are sensitive to PG, and offer a smoother vape without compromising on flavour. However, they should be used in MTL mode at low power (minimum 30 watts) to avoid the risk of leaks and to preserve the quality of the product.
Yes, CBD e-liquids are designed for vaping and generally do not contain nicotine. They offer a different sensation, focused on relaxation, without any addictive effect. They should be used at moderate power to preserve the quality of the product. An MTL e-cigarette with a tight draw is recommended.
E-liquids are considered a far healthier alternative to smoked tobacco. They are formulated from ingredients certified as safe for health, unlike the 7,000 harmful substances found in traditional cigarettes. Nevertheless, to choose a safe e-liquid, a few precautions should be taken, such as buying your e-liquid from a recognised retailer like Le Vapoteur Discount or checking the composition and origin by favouring reputable and regulated brands.
An e-liquid manufactured in France meets strict requirements and European directives regarding traceability, quality control and safety. As a guarantee of quality and transparency for the consumer, French and European brands generally have their own laboratory for developing their e-liquid formula and are required to have this formulation assessed by an independent laboratory before going to market. All these steps ensure that e-liquids are safe for vapers. These French and European quality standards prohibit undesirable substances and provide a more secure framework for vaping.
To keep your e-liquid as long as possible and preserve its quality, taste, and colour, it should be kept in its original bottle and ideally away from light, heat, and air. Despite these precautions, the e-liquid may sometimes take on a slightly brown tint. Safe and suitable for consumption, this colour is due to the oxidation of nicotine and may also depend on the flavouring used in the e-liquid. It is generally recommended not to keep the same e-liquid for more than 5 days in your clearomiser or pod cartridge if you are not using it, to avoid leaks and excessive oxidation.
The DLUO (Date Limite d'Utilisation Optimale) or BBD (Best Before Date) is an advisory date. Once the e-liquid's date has passed, it may lose its taste qualities and its appearance (colour, fluidity). A factory-fresh e-liquid will have a best before date of approximately 2 years. Even past its best before date, the e-liquid remains suitable for vaporisation and will not be harmful to health.
