Choosing the right 60 ml e-liquid with included boosters in 70/30 PG/VG

An e-liquid is a consumable intended exclusively for use with an e-cigarette. The 60 ml format comes as a mix-and-vape pack: a partially filled bottle of nicotine-free e-liquid, supplied with one or two 20 mg/ml nicotine boosters. Once the boosters have been poured into the bottle, you get 60 ml of e-liquid at 3 or 6 mg/ml. Rich in propylene glycol, it is fluid, highly flavoursome and delivers a pronounced throat hit, for indirect inhalation (MTL) similar to the draw of a cigarette.

3 or 6 mg/ml: what does the pack contain?

The volume of e-liquid in the bottle is adjusted according to the number of boosters supplied, so that you get 60 ml of e-liquid at the stated strength in both cases:

Final strengthBottleBoosters suppliedFinal volumeProfile
3 mg/ml50 ml of nicotine-free e-liquid1 booster of 10 ml at 20 mg/ml60 mlOccasional smoker, MTL vaping
6 mg/ml40 ml of nicotine-free e-liquid2 boosters of 10 ml at 20 mg/ml60 mlModerate smoker, MTL vaping

The nicotine strength is selected when ordering: it depends on the pack and cannot subsequently be changed without adding base or a booster. As PG enhances the throat hit, the 3 mg/ml pack may be sufficient where a 50/50 blend would require more.

How do you prepare a 60 ml e-liquid?

1
Open the bottle: remove the dropper nozzle (it can generally be unclipped with your fingernail or the supplied nozzle opener).
2
Pour in the supplied booster or boosters: one booster into the 50 ml bottle for 3 mg/ml, two boosters into the 40 ml bottle for 6 mg/ml.
3
Close and shake: replace the nozzle, screw the cap back on and shake vigorously for around thirty seconds to homogenise the mixture.
4
Leave to rest for a few minutes before filling your tank. Remember to note the resulting strength on the bottle.

The bottle is filled to 60 ml once mixing is complete: there is no room for an additional booster. For a different strength, 50 ml e-liquids and the 10 ml format allow you to adjust the dosage.

The 70/30 PG/VG ratio: flavour and throat hit first

An e-liquid consists of a propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerine (VG) base, flavourings and, where applicable, nicotine. PG carries the flavours and throat hit, while VG provides smoothness and vapour volume. With 70% PG, this ratio prioritises flavour precision and throat sensation, with discreet vapour.

Very fluid, a 70/30 e-liquid quickly saturates coils designed for a tight draw. However, it is not recommended for sub-ohm equipment, where it may leak and produce an overly harsh throat hit.

What equipment should you use for a 70/30 e-liquid?

70/30 comes into its own with compact, MTL-oriented equipment focused on flavour rendition. Here are the most suitable equipment types and a few examples available from Le Vapoteur Discount:

Recommended settings

The value of the coil and the power determine the draw type. With a 70/30 60 ml e-liquid, low power is enough to release the flavours:

CoilDraw typeSuggested power
1.2 to 1.8 ΩMTL – tight draw, similar to a cigarette8 to 15 W
0.8 to 1.2 ΩMTL – slightly more open draw12 to 20 W

Always start at the lower end of the power range indicated on the coil, then increase gradually without exceeding 20 W. As for the drip tip, a slim, elongated 510 mouthpiece concentrates flavours and enhances the sensation in the mouth.

Maintaining your e-cigarette properly

1
Prime each new coil: apply a few drops of e-liquid to the cotton, fill the tank, then wait a few minutes before first use.
2
Check for leaks: as it is fluid, 70/30 may leak if the coil resistance is too low or if the tank is not properly closed. Check the seals at every refill.
3
Replace the coil as soon as flavours deteriorate or vapour decreases (on average every 2 to 3 weeks depending on use), and take the opportunity to thoroughly clean the tank and drip tip.
4
Close the bottle properly after every refill and store it upright: a large format is used over several weeks.

Precautions for use and storage

  • If you do not smoke, do not vape.
  • Product prohibited for minors. Once the supplied boosters have been added, the e-liquid contains nicotine: it is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women, or for people suffering from cardiovascular conditions or high blood pressure.
  • Handle nicotine boosters with care; in the event of contact with skin, rinse thoroughly with soap and water.
  • In the event of an allergy, check for possible allergens (limonene, linalool, etc.) listed on the label.
  • Store your e-liquids closed, in a dry place away from light and temperature fluctuations, out of the reach of children and animals.

Remember to recycle: empty bottles should be taken to appropriate collection points.

FAQ

An e-liquid (or electronic cigarette liquid) is the product that generates vapour when heated by the coil of an electronic cigarette. Unlike traditional cigarettes, there is no combustion. The e-liquid is composed of a base (propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin), flavourings, and optionally nicotine. It determines the taste, throat hit, cloud production, and overall vaping experience.

An e-liquid generally contains four ingredients:
  • propylene glycol (PG), which carries the flavours, enhances the throat hit and provides a sensation close to that of a cigarette;
  • vegetable glycerin (VG), responsible for vapour production and cloud density;
  • flavourings, which give the taste (fruit, mint, classic tobacco, dessert, ice…);
  • nicotine, optional, which helps manage cravings for vapers who are cutting down.
Some formulas also use alternative plant-based bases (Végétol) for a smoother experience.

An e-liquid with nicotine is intended for vapers who wish to replace the traditional cigarette. Nicotine acts on the feeling of satisfaction and limits cravings. Nicotine-free e-liquids are used either at the end of a quit programme, or simply for the pleasure of vaping, although it is not recommended to vape if you are not a smoker. Choosing the right nicotine level is essential to avoid a bad experience (throat irritation or cravings). The nicotine dosage depends on your previous cigarette consumption. A light smoker will not have the same needs as a heavy smoker. A level that is too low can lead to frustration and relapse, while a level that is too high can cause throat discomfort. The aim is to find a balance between hit, sensation and vaping comfort, adjusting gradually as needed. As a general rule, a low dosage of 0, 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine is recommended for light smokers or occasional smokers (fewer than 7 cigarettes per day), and a high dosage of 20 mg/ml of nicotine salt for a heavy smoker (1 packet of cigarettes or more). However, this dosage can be adjusted depending on your e-cigarette and your vaping style.

Nicotine salt is a more stable and smoother form of nicotine to inhale. It provides rapid absorption, with a less harsh throat hit, even at high levels. Nicotine salt e-liquids are particularly suited to beginner vapers, former heavy smokers, and low-wattage MTL kits. There are different nicotine salt strengths. The most well-known and effective being 20 mg/ml, highly suitable for heavy smokers. However, a 10 mg/ml strength can work very well for a regular or occasional smoker.

A nicotine booster is a concentrated nicotine bottle, designed to be added to a large-format e-liquid. It allows you to adjust the final nicotine level depending on the quantity added. Flexible and cost-effective, this solution allows you to boost your large-format e-liquid to 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine. For a 50 ml e-liquid, adding one nicotine booster will give you 3 mg/ml, while two nicotine boosters will transform your e-liquid into 6 mg/ml.

The propylene glycol / vegetable glycerine ratio strongly influences the vape.
  • An e-liquid rich in propylene glycol or PG (70/30, 80/20) enhances the throat hit, flavour precision and discreet vaping. The e-liquid will be fluid and compatible only with MTL equipment with a tight draw to avoid leaks.
  • An e-liquid rich in vegetable glycerine or VG (30/70) produces more vapour and clouds, with a smoother, sweeter sensation. This thicker e-liquid will be compatible with sub-ohm or shisha-type e-cigarettes, producing large clouds of vapour at high power.
The choice therefore depends on the power and compatibility with your e-cigarette. If in doubt, the most common ratio remains 50/50 PG/VG. Balanced, it allows versatile use on MTL, RDL and light DTL e-cigarette models (between approximately 15 and 40 watts).

E-liquids with a vegetable base or Végétol replace traditional propylene glycol. They are often gentler on the throat, better tolerated by vapers who are sensitive to PG, and offer a smoother vape without compromising on flavour. However, they should be used in MTL with a low wattage (minimum 30 watts) to avoid the risk of leaks and preserve the quality of the product.

Yes, CBD e-liquids are designed for vaping and generally do not contain nicotine. They offer a different sensation, focused on relaxation, with no addictive effect. They should be used at a moderate wattage to preserve the quality of the product. A tight-draw MTL e-cigarette is recommended for use with them.

E-liquids are considered a much healthier alternative to smoked tobacco. They are formulated from ingredients certified as safe for health, unlike the 7,000 harmful substances found in traditional cigarettes. Nevertheless, to choose a safe e-liquid, a few precautions should be taken, such as purchasing your e-liquid from a recognised retailer like Le Vapoteur Discount or checking the composition and origin by favouring reputable and regulated brands.

An e-liquid manufactured in France meets strict requirements and European directives regarding traceability, control, and safety. As a guarantee of quality and transparency for the consumer, French and European brands generally have their own laboratory for developing their e-liquid formula and are required to have this formulation studied by an independent laboratory before it is placed on the market. All these steps ensure that e-liquids are safe for vapers. These French and European quality standards prohibit undesirable substances and provide a more secure framework for vaping.

To keep your e-liquid for as long as possible and preserve its quality, taste and colour, you should keep it in its original bottle and ideally away from light, heat and air. Despite these precautions, the e-liquid may sometimes take on a slightly brown tint. Safe and fit for consumption, this colour is due to the oxidation of nicotine and may also depend on the flavouring used in the e-liquid. It is generally recommended not to keep the same e-liquid for more than 5 days in your clearomiser or pod cartridge if you are not using it, to avoid leaks and excessive oxidation.

The DLUO (Date Limite d'Utilisation Optimale) or BBD (Best Before Date) is an indicative date. Once the e-liquid's date has passed, it may lose its taste qualities and appearance (colour, fluidity). An e-liquid fresh from the factory will have a BBD of approximately 2 years. Even past the BBD, the e-liquid remains suitable for vaping and will not be harmful to health.
