An e-liquid is a consumable intended exclusively for an electronic cigarette. The 50 ml format is sold nicotine-free, in a bottle designed to hold up to two boosters. It can be vaped as is at 0 mg/ml or topped up with one or two nicotine boosters to obtain approximately 3 or 6 mg/ml. This large format is ideal for vapers who have found their everyday flavour.
Adding a booster is optional: 50 ml e-liquid can be vaped perfectly without nicotine. If you want nicotine, the number of boosters added determines the final strength:
| Boosters added (10 ml at 20 mg/ml) | Final volume | Strength obtained | Profile |
|---|---|---|---|
| None | 50 ml | 0 mg/ml | Nicotine-free vaping, full flavour enjoyment |
| 1 booster | 60 ml | ≈ 3 mg/ml | Occasional smoker |
| 2 boosters | 70 ml | ≈ 6 mg/ml | Moderate smoker |
The resulting strengths are rounded (exactly 3.3 and 5.7 mg/ml). For nicotine requirements above 6 mg/ml, the 10 ml format or nicotine salts are more suitable.
For a higher strength or a personalised recipe, use a larger empty bottle, available in the DIY accessories section.
Le Vapoteur Discount boosters come in 10 ml bottles (strength indicated on each product page). The nicotine type and base alter the throat sensation:
| Booster | Sensation | Who is it for? |
|---|---|---|
| 50/50 Nicotine Booster | Classic throat hit, neutral taste | The standard choice, suitable for all 50/50 e-liquids |
| 70/30 Nicotine Booster | Stronger throat hit, enhanced flavours | MTL vaping, for those seeking a sensation close to a cigarette |
| Fresh 50/50 Nicotine Booster | Classic throat hit with a touch of freshness | Fans of fresh fruity or menthol flavours |
| Nicotine Salt Booster | Very smooth throat hit | Vapers sensitive to throat hit or looking for a smoother vape |
| Fresh Nicotine Salt Booster | Smooth and fresh throat hit | The smoothness of salts with a fresh note |
| Hybrid Nicotine Booster | Balance between throat hit and smoothness | A compromise between classic nicotine and nicotine salts |

An e-liquid is made up of a base of propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerine (VG), flavourings and, where applicable, nicotine. PG carries flavours and throat hit, while VG provides smoothness and vapour volume. In equal parts, the 50/50 ratio combines these two properties.
| PG/VG ratio | 70/30 | 50/50 | 30/70 |

Thanks to its fluidity, a 50/50 e-liquid properly saturates the coils of most clearomisers and cartridges, without being too thin for tight-draw models.
50/50 is compatible with the vast majority of e-cigarettes. Here are the most suitable equipment categories and a few examples available from Le Vapoteur Discount:
| Equipment | Key points | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| E-cigarettes | Complete kits (battery + clearomiser), with simple or adjustable settings depending on the model. | Kit Q16 Pro – Justfog Kit PockeX Pocket AIO – Aspire Kit Coolfire Z80 Zenith 2 – Innokin |
| Pods | Compact format, refillable cartridges, use without complex settings. | Kit Luxe XR Max 2 – Vaporesso Kit Kiwi 2 – Kiwi Vapor Kit Pixo Max – Aspire |
| Clearomisers | Choose MTL or RDL models, compatible with 0.4 to 1.2 Ω coils. | Zenith 2 – Innokin Q16 Pro Plus – Justfog GOZ+ – Innokin Z Nano 3 – GeekVape |
The coil resistance and wattage determine the draw style. With a 50 ml 50/50 e-liquid vaped at 0, 3 or 6 mg/ml, the following guidelines provide a consistent vape:
| Coil resistance | Draw style | Recommended wattage |
|---|---|---|
| 1.0 to 1.2 Ω | MTL – tight draw, similar to a cigarette | 10 to 18 W |
| 0.6 to 0.9 Ω | MTL to RDL – intermediate draw | 15 to 25 W |
| 0.4 to 0.5 Ω | RDL – semi-airy draw | 25 to 40 W |
Always start at the lower end of the wattage range stated on the coil, then increase gradually. For the drip tip, a 510 tip is suitable for most uses; an 810 drip tip can be used for RDL with clearomisers designed for this format.
Remember to recycle: empty bottles should be taken to suitable collection points.

An e-liquid (or liquid for electronic cigarettes) is the product that generates vapour when heated by the coil of an electronic cigarette. Unlike traditional cigarettes, there is no combustion. The e-liquid is composed of a base (propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine), flavourings, and optionally nicotine. It determines the taste, throat sensation, cloud production, and overall vaping experience.
An e-liquid generally contains four elements:
Some formulas also use alternative vegetable bases (Végétol) for a smoother experience.
An e-liquid with nicotine is intended for vapers who wish to replace the traditional cigarette. Nicotine acts on the sense of satisfaction and reduces cravings. E-liquids without nicotine are used either at the end of a cessation programme or purely for the pleasure of vaping, even though it is not recommended to vape if you are not a smoker. Choosing the right nicotine level is essential to avoid a poor experience (irritation or cravings). The nicotine dosage depends on your previous cigarette consumption. A light smoker will not have the same needs as a heavy smoker. Too low a level can lead to frustration and relapse, while too high a level can cause throat discomfort. The aim is to find a balance between hit, sensation, and vaping comfort, adjusting gradually as needed. A low dosage of 0, 3, or 6 mg/ml of nicotine is generally recommended for light or occasional smokers (fewer than 7 cigarettes per day), and a high dosage of 20 mg/ml nicotine salt for heavy smokers (one packet of cigarettes or more). This dosage can, however, be adjusted depending on your electronic cigarette and your vaping style.
Nicotine salt is a more stable form of nicotine that is smoother to inhale. It provides rapid absorption with a less harsh throat hit, even at high levels. Nicotine salt e-liquids are particularly suited to beginner vapers, former heavy smokers, and low-wattage MTL kits. Various nicotine salt dosages are available. The best-known and most effective is 20 mg/ml, highly suited to heavy smokers. However, a 10 mg/ml dosage can work very well for regular or occasional smokers.
A nicotine booster is a nicotine-concentrated bottle designed to be added to a large-format e-liquid. It allows you to adjust the final nicotine level according to the quantity added. Flexible and cost-effective, this solution lets you boost your large-format e-liquid to 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine. For a 50 ml e-liquid, adding one nicotine booster will give you 3 mg/ml, while two nicotine boosters will bring your e-liquid to 6 mg/ml.
The propylene glycol / vegetable glycerine ratio strongly influences the vaping experience.
The choice therefore depends on the power and compatibility with your electronic cigarette. If in doubt, the most common ratio remains the 50/50 PG/VG. Balanced, it allows versatile use across MTL, RDL, and light DTL electronic cigarette models (approximately between 15 and 40 watts).
Vegetable-based e-liquids or Végétol e-liquids replace traditional propylene glycol. They are often gentler on the throat, better tolerated by vapers sensitive to PG, and offer a smoother vape without compromising on flavour. However, they should be used in MTL with a low wattage (minimum 30 watts) to avoid the risk of leaks and preserve product quality.
Yes, CBD e-liquids are designed for vaping and generally contain no nicotine. They offer a different sensation, focused on relaxation, with no addictive effect. They should be used at moderate power to preserve the quality of the product. For best results, pair them with an MTL electronic cigarette with a tight draw.
E-liquids are considered a much healthier alternative to smoked tobacco. They are formulated from ingredients certified as safe, unlike the 7,000 harmful substances found in traditional cigarettes. Nevertheless, to choose a safe e-liquid, a few precautions should be taken, such as purchasing your e-liquid from a recognised retailer like Le Vapoteur Discount, or checking the composition and origin by favouring reputable and regulated brands.
An e-liquid manufactured in France meets strict requirements and European directives regarding traceability, quality control, and safety. As a guarantee of quality and transparency for the consumer, French and European brands generally have their own laboratory for developing their e-liquid formulas and are required to have these formulations assessed by an independent laboratory before going to market. All these steps ensure that e-liquids are safe for vapers. These French and European quality standards prohibit undesirable substances and provide a more secure framework for vaping.
To keep your e-liquid as long as possible and preserve its quality, taste, and colour, it should be stored in its original bottle and ideally away from light, heat, and air. Despite these precautions, the e-liquid may sometimes take on a slightly brown tint. Safe and suitable for consumption, this colour is caused by the oxidation of nicotine and may also depend on the flavouring used in the e-liquid. It is generally advisable not to keep the same e-liquid in your clearomiser or pod cartridge for more than 5 days if you are not using it, to avoid leaks and excessive oxidation.
The DLUO (Date Limite d'Utilisation Optimale) or BBD (Best Before Date) is an indicative date. Once the e-liquid's date has passed, it may lose its taste qualities and appearance (colour, consistency). An e-liquid fresh from the factory will have a BBD of around 2 years. Even past the BBD, the e-liquid remains suitable for vaporisation and will not be harmful to health.
