An e-liquid is a consumable for e-cigarettes exclusively. The 10 ml format is the only one authorized to contain nicotine under European regulations. Practical, discreet and easy to carry, it is ideal for trying out a flavor without long-term commitment or for vaping every day with ease.
The nicotine level of an e-liquid depends on your smoker profile:
Light smoker (fewer than 5 cigarettes per day): 3 to 6 mg/ml of nicotine. If you smoke little, a low nicotine level may be enough to satisfy your tobacco cravings.
Moderate smoker (5 to 15 cigarettes per day): 6 to 12 mg/ml of nicotine. For those who smoke regularly, a medium nicotine level helps recreate the sensations and satisfaction that match their habits.
Intense smoker (more than 15 cigarettes per day): 12 to 18 mg/ml of nicotine. If you smoke a lot, you will likely need a high nicotine level to compensate for the strong sensation of withdrawal and the urge to smoke.
Heavy smoker (more than 20 cigarettes per day): 18 and 20 mg/ml of nicotine. Heavy smokers need the maximum nicotine level to counterbalance the effects of withdrawal and quitting smoking. Nicotine salt e-liquids (at 20 mg/ml) were designed for them.
This estimate is provided as a guide: every vaper is unique and may reconsider their nicotine level based on their throat hit sensation and the hardware used.
E-cigarette: balanced PG/VG ratios are suitable for most versatile e-cigarettes such as the CoolFire Z80 by Innokin, the Zelos M80 Kit by Aspire or the iStick T80 by Eleaf.
Pod: The Soul 2 Pod Kit by GeekVape and the Vibe SE by Vaporesso.
Clearomizer: versatile models such as the Zenith 2 by Innokin, the GTX18 by Vaporesso or the Zeus Nano 2 by GeekVape are compatible with a balanced PG/VG ratio.
Coil: this ratio is ideal with coils between 1.2 ohm and 0.4 ohm.
Drip tip: a standard 510 format drip tip is preferred, though some vapers use it on airy 810 models without experiencing leaks.
A balanced PG/VG ratio (50/50) can suit a wide power range between 10 and 50 watts.
If you don't smoke, don't vape :)

An e-liquid (or liquid for electronic cigarettes) is the product that generates vapour when heated by the coil of an electronic cigarette. Unlike traditional cigarettes, there is no combustion. The e-liquid is made up of a base (propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin), flavourings, and optionally nicotine. It determines the taste, throat hit, cloud production, and the overall vaping experience.
An e-liquid generally contains four elements:
Some formulas also use alternative vegetable bases (Végétol) for a smoother experience.
An e-liquid with nicotine is intended for vapers who wish to replace traditional cigarettes. Nicotine acts on the feeling of satisfaction and helps limit cravings. Nicotine-free e-liquids are used either at the end of a quit-smoking programme, or purely for the pleasure of vaping, although it is not recommended to vape if you are not a smoker. Choosing the right nicotine level is essential to avoid a poor experience (throat irritation or cravings). The nicotine dosage depends on your previous cigarette consumption. A light smoker will not have the same needs as a heavy smoker. A level that is too low can lead to frustration and relapse, while a level that is too high can cause throat discomfort. The goal is to find a balance between throat hit, sensation, and vaping comfort, adjusting gradually as needed. A low dosage of 0, 3, or 6 mg/ml of nicotine is generally recommended for light smokers or occasional smokers (fewer than 7 cigarettes per day), and a high dosage of 20 mg/ml nicotine salt for a heavy smoker (one pack of cigarettes or more). However, this dosage can be adjusted depending on your e-cigarette and your vaping style.
Nicotine salt is a more stable and smoother form of nicotine for inhalation. It provides rapid absorption with a less harsh throat hit, even at high strengths. Nicotine salt e-liquids are particularly suitable for beginner vapers, former heavy smokers, and low-wattage MTL kits. Various nicotine salt dosages are available. The most well-known and effective is 20 mg/ml, which is very well suited to heavy smokers. However, a 10 mg/ml dosage may be perfectly suitable for a regular or occasional smoker.
A nicotine booster is a concentrated nicotine bottle, designed to be added to a large-format e-liquid. It allows you to adjust the final nicotine level depending on the quantity added. Flexible and cost-effective, this solution lets you boost your large-format e-liquid to 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine. For a 50 ml e-liquid, adding one nicotine booster will give you 3 mg/ml, while two nicotine boosters will turn your e-liquid into a 6 mg/ml.
The propylene glycol / vegetable glycerin ratio has a strong influence on the vaping experience.
The choice therefore depends on the power and compatibility with your electronic cigarette. If in doubt, the most common ratio remains 50/50 PG/VG. Balanced, it allows versatile use across MTL, RDL and light DTL electronic cigarette models (between approximately 15 and 40 watts).
Vegetable-based or Végétol e-liquids replace traditional propylene glycol. They are often gentler on the throat, better tolerated by vapers who are sensitive to PG, and offer a smoother vape without compromising on flavour. However, they should be used in MTL mode at low wattage (minimum 30 watts) to avoid the risk of leaks and to preserve the quality of the product.
Yes, CBD e-liquids are designed for vaping and generally do not contain nicotine. They offer a different sensation, focused on relaxation, with no addictive effect. They should be used at moderate wattage to preserve the quality of the product. An MTL e-cigarette with a tight draw is recommended for use with them.
E-liquids are considered a far healthier alternative to smoked tobacco. They are formulated from ingredients certified as safe for health, unlike the 7,000 harmful substances found in traditional cigarettes. Nevertheless, to choose a safe e-liquid, a few precautions should be taken, such as purchasing your e-liquid from a recognised retailer such as Le Vapoteur Discount, or checking the composition and origin by favouring reputable and regulated brands.
An e-liquid manufactured in France meets strict requirements and European directives regarding traceability, quality control and safety. As a mark of quality and transparency for consumers, French and European brands generally have their own laboratory for developing their e-liquid formula and are required to have that formulation assessed by an independent laboratory before it is brought to market. All these steps guarantee e-liquids that are safe for vapers. These French and European quality standards prohibit undesirable substances and provide a more secure framework for vaping.
To keep your e-liquid for as long as possible and preserve its quality, taste, and colour, store it in its original bottle, ideally away from light, heat, and air. Despite these precautions, the e-liquid may sometimes take on a slightly brown tint. Harmless and safe to use, this colour is due to the oxidation of nicotine and may also depend on the flavouring used in the e-liquid. It is generally recommended not to keep the same e-liquid for more than 5 days in your clearomiser or pod cartridge if you are not using it, to avoid leaks and excessive oxidation.
The BBD (Best Before Date) or MHD (Minimum Durability Date) is an indicative date. Once the e-liquid's date has passed, it may lose its taste qualities and appearance (colour, fluidity). An e-liquid fresh from the factory will have a BBD of approximately 2 years. Even past the BBD, the e-liquid remains safe to vaporise and will not be harmful to health.
