The Le Vapoteur Discount guide to choosing your 10 ml e-liquid
Essential to any electronic cigarette, the e-liquid is the heart of your vaping experience. The 10 ml format is currently the only one permitted to contain nicotine under European regulations. Compact, practical and easy to carry, it allows you to try a flavor, adjust your nicotine level or vape daily with complete ease.
It is also the ideal format to support a tobacco reduction or cessation journey, at your own pace.
What nicotine level should you choose for your e-liquid?
The right nicotine level depends above all on your smoker profile and your habits. The goal is to satisfy the craving without discomfort, while keeping the vaping experience enjoyable.
-
Light smoker (fewer than 5 cigarettes per day)
0 to 6 mg/ml
A gentle dosage, sufficient to curb the urge to smoke while offering a light throat sensation. -
Moderate smoker (5 to 15 cigarettes per day)
6 to 12 mg/ml
An ideal balance to replicate a sensation close to a classic cigarette, without frustration. -
Heavy smoker (more than 15 cigarettes per day)
12 to 18 mg/ml
A higher level, designed to meet a significant nicotine need, especially at the start of quitting. -
Heavy smoker (more than 20 cigarettes per day)
18 to 20 mg/ml
The maximum permitted dosage, often associated with nicotine salts, for faster absorption and a smoother sensation.
These indications remain guidelines: every vaper is unique. Your personal experience, the throat hit and the equipment used may lead you to adjust your dosage.
What equipment should you use with a fluid PG-rich e-liquid (80/20 to 60/40)?
Thanks to their high propylene glycol content, these e-liquids are fluid, highly aromatic and deliver a pronounced hit. They are perfectly suited to indirect (MTL) vaping, close to the sensation of a cigarette.
Electronic cigarette
PG-rich e-liquids perform at their best on compact models focused on flavor delivery, such as:
- Wenax M2 Kit by GeekVape : a very compact and elegant tube format ;
- Aegis Solo 3 MTL Kit by GeekVape : a larger box format, but extremely robust;
- GTX One Pro Kit by Vaporesso : the modern version of Vaporesso's best-seller in a compact box format;
- Drag S3 Kit by Voopoo : a halfway point between a box mod and a pod with excellent battery life.
Pods
They also work very well with high-performance pods that are easy to use:
- Pixo Neo Kit by Aspire : a model with incredible flavor delivery equipped with a solid 1300 mAh battery;
- Argus G3 Kit by Voopoo : Voopoo's best-seller in a highly refined design ;
- Klypse Pro Kit by Innokin : a long, slim pod equipped with a drip tip guard.
Clearomizers
For optimal flavor delivery, opt for MTL-oriented clearomizers, such as:
- Z Nano MTL by GeekVape : an excellent GeekVape clearomizer with a tight draw;
- Q16 Pro by Justfog : a timeless clearomizer, long, slim and practical for everyday use ;
- Nautilus 3SR by Aspire : the new generation Nautilus for connoisseurs.
Coils
Ideally, small coils between 1.2 ohm and 1.8 ohm are recommended, for a smooth, economical and flavorful vape.
Drip tip
A drip tip 510, slim and elongated is recommended to concentrate the aromas and enhance the sensation in the mouth.
What wattage should you use for vaping?
PG-rich e-liquids do not require high wattage.
A vape below 20 watts is more than sufficient to fully enjoy the flavors, while preserving the lifespan of the coils.
Taking care of your electronic cigarette
Regular maintenance is essential to ensure a healthy, flavorful and long-lasting vape:
- Regularly clean the clearomizer and the drip tip to avoid the buildup of residue;
- Replace the coil as soon as the flavors deteriorate or the vapor decreases (on average every 2 to 3 weeks) and take the opportunity to thoroughly clean your clearomizer;
- Avoid leaving a tank filled with the same e-liquid for more than 5 days without use, in order to limit the risk of leaks or flavor degradation.
Usage precautions
- If you do not smoke, do not vape;
- Product containing nicotine: prohibited for minors, not recommended for pregnant women and people suffering from cardiovascular disorders or hypertension;
- In case of allergies, check for the potential presence of allergens (limonene, tree nuts, etc.) indicated on the label;
- In case of skin contact, rinse thoroughly with water and soap;
- Store your e-liquids in a dry place, away from light and temperature variations, out of reach of children and animals.
Think about recycling: empty bottles must be disposed of through appropriate channels.

FAQ
An e-liquid (or electronic cigarette liquid) is the product that generates vapour when heated by the coil of an electronic cigarette. Unlike traditional cigarettes, there is no combustion. The e-liquid is composed of a base (propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine), flavourings, and optionally nicotine. It determines the taste, the throat hit, the cloud production, and the overall vaping experience.
An e-liquid generally contains four elements:
- propylene glycol (PG), which carries the flavours, enhances the throat hit and provides a sensation close to that of a cigarette;
- vegetable glycerin (VG), responsible for the vapour and the density of the cloud;
- flavourings, which give the taste (fruit, mint, classic blonde, indulgent, ice…);
- nicotine, optional, which helps manage cravings in vapers who are quitting.
An e-liquid with nicotine is intended for vapers who wish to replace traditional cigarettes. Nicotine acts on the sensation of satisfaction and limits cravings. E-liquids without nicotine are used either at the end of a cessation process, or purely for the pleasure of vaping, even though it is not recommended to vape if you are not a smoker. Choosing the right nicotine level is essential to avoid a bad experience (throat irritation or cravings).
The nicotine dosage depends on your previous cigarette consumption. A light smoker will not have the same needs as a heavy smoker. A level that is too low can lead to frustration and relapse, while a level that is too high can cause throat discomfort. The goal is to find a balance between hit, sensation and vaping comfort, adjusting gradually as needed.
We generally recommend a low dosage of 0, 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine for light smokers or occasional smokers (fewer than 7 cigarettes per day), and a high dosage of 20 mg/ml of nicotine salt for heavy smokers (1 packet of cigarettes or more). However, this dosage can be adjusted depending on your e-cigarette and your vaping style.
Nicotine salt is a more stable and smoother form of nicotine to inhale. It provides rapid absorption, with a less harsh throat hit, even at high levels. Nicotine salt e-liquids are particularly suited to beginner vapers, former heavy smokers, and low-wattage MTL kits.
There are different nicotine salt dosages. The best known and most effective being 20 mg/ml, which is highly suitable for heavy smokers. However, a 10 mg/ml dosage can work very well for a regular or occasional smoker.
A nicotine booster is a concentrated nicotine bottle, designed to be added to a large-format e-liquid. It allows you to adjust the final nicotine level according to the quantity added. Flexible and cost-effective, this solution allows you to boost your large-format e-liquid to 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine. For a 50 ml e-liquid, adding one nicotine booster will give you 3 mg/ml, while two nicotine boosters will transform your e-liquid into 6 mg/ml.
The propylene glycol / vegetable glycerin ratio strongly influences the vape.
- An e-liquid rich in propylene glycol or PG (70/30, 80/20) enhances the throat hit, flavour precision and a discreet vape. The e-liquid will be thin and compatible only with MTL devices with a tight draw to avoid leaks.
- An e-liquid rich in vegetable glycerin or VG (30/70) produces more vapour and clouds, with a softer, sweeter sensation. This thicker e-liquid will be compatible with sub-ohm or shisha-type electronic cigarettes, producing large vapour clouds at high wattage.
E-liquids with a vegetable base or Végétol replace traditional propylene glycol. They are often gentler on the throat, better tolerated by certain vapers who are sensitive to PG, and provide a smoother vape without compromising on flavour. However, they should be used in MTL mode with a low wattage (minimum 30 watts) to avoid the risk of leaks and preserve the quality of the product.
Yes, CBD e-liquids are designed for vaping and generally contain no nicotine. They offer a different sensation, focused on relaxation, with no addictive effect. They should be used at moderate wattage to preserve the quality of the product. A MTL electronic cigarette with a tight draw is recommended.
E-liquids are considered a much healthier alternative to smoked tobacco. They are formulated from ingredients certified as safe for health, unlike the 7,000 harmful substances found in traditional cigarettes. Nevertheless, to choose a safe e-liquid, a few precautions should be taken, such as purchasing your e-liquid from a recognised retailer like Le Vapoteur Discount, or checking the composition and origin by favouring reputable and regulated brands.
An e-liquid manufactured in France meets strict requirements and European directives in terms of traceability, control and safety. As a guarantee of quality and transparency for the consumer, French and European brands generally have their own laboratory for developing their e-liquid formula and are required to have this formulation studied by an independent laboratory before it goes to market. All these steps ensure that e-liquids are safe for vapers. These French and European quality standards prohibit undesirable substances and provide a more secure framework for vaping.
To keep your e-liquid for as long as possible and preserve its quality, taste and colour, you should keep it in its original bottle and ideally away from light, heat and air. Despite these precautions, it can happen that the e-liquid takes on a slightly brown tint. Safe and suitable for consumption, this colour is due to the oxidation of nicotine and can also depend on the flavouring used in the e-liquid. It is generally recommended not to keep the same e-liquid for more than 5 days in your clearomiser or pod cartridge if you are not using it, to avoid leaks and excessive oxidation.
The DLUO (Date Limite d'Utilisation Optimale) or BBD (Best Before Date) is an indicative date. Once the e-liquid's date has passed, it may lose its taste qualities and appearance (colour, fluidity). An e-liquid straight from the factory will have a BBD of approximately 2 years. Even past the BBD, the e-liquid remains suitable for vaping and will not be harmful to health.
