Essential to the operation of every e-cigarette, e-liquid determines flavour, throat hit and vapour production. The 10 ml format is the only one permitted by European regulations (TPD) to contain nicotine, up to a limit of 20 mg/ml. Compact and easy to carry, it lets you discover a flavour, adjust your nicotine strength or vape every day.
The right nicotine strength depends on your tobacco consumption and habits. The aim is to achieve a comfortable throat hit, without irritation or cravings.
| Profile | Consumption | Suggested strength | Throat hit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Occasional smoker | Fewer than 5 cigarettes / day | 0 to 3 mg/ml | ●○○○ Light |
| Moderate smoker | 5 to 10 cigarettes / day | 6 mg/ml | ●●○○ Moderate |
| Regular smoker | 10 to 20 cigarettes / day | 12 mg/ml | ●●●○ Pronounced |
| Heavy smoker | More than 20 cigarettes / day | 16 to 20 mg/ml | ●●●● Intense |
These guidelines are indicative: your preferences, the equipment used and your inhalation style may lead you to adjust your strength. The higher the vaping power, the stronger the throat hit: high strengths are best vaped mouth-to-lung (MTL). For high strengths, nicotine salts offer a smoother throat hit. The strengths available for this e-liquid are shown in the product-page selector.
An e-liquid is made up of a base of propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerine (VG), flavourings and, where applicable, nicotine. PG carries flavours and throat hit, while VG provides smoothness and vapour volume. In equal parts, the 50/50 ratio combines these two properties.

Thanks to its fluidity, a 50/50 e-liquid properly saturates the coils of most clearomisers and cartridges, without being too thin for tight-draw models.
50/50 is compatible with the vast majority of e-cigarettes. Here are the most suitable equipment categories and a few examples available from Le Vapoteur Discount:
| Equipment | Key points | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| E-cigarettes | Complete kits (battery + clearomiser), with simple or adjustable settings depending on the model. | Kit Q16 Pro – Justfog Kit PockeX Pocket AIO – Aspire Kit Coolfire Z80 Zenith 2 – Innokin |
| Pods | Compact format, refillable cartridges, use without complex settings. | Kit Luxe XR Max 2 – Vaporesso Kit Kiwi 2 – Kiwi Vapor Kit Pixo Max – Aspire |
| Clearomisers | Choose MTL or RDL models, compatible with 0.4 to 1.2 Ω coils. | Zenith 2 – Innokin Q16 Pro Plus – Justfog GOZ+ – Innokin Z Nano 3 – GeekVape |
The value of the coil and the power determine the type of draw. With a 50/50 e-liquid, the following guidelines provide a consistent vape:
| Coil | Type of draw | Recommended power | Suitable nicotine strength |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.0 to 1.2 Ω | MTL – tight draw, similar to a cigarette | 10 to 18 W | All strengths |
| 0.6 to 0.9 Ω | MTL to RDL – intermediate draw | 15 to 25 W | Up to 12 mg/ml |
| 0.4 to 0.5 Ω | RDL – semi-airy draw | 25 to 40 W | 0 to 6 mg/ml |
Always start at the lower end of the power range indicated on the coil, then increase gradually. For the drip tip, a 510 mouthpiece is suitable for most uses; an 810 drip tip can be used for RDL vaping on clearomisers designed for this format.
Remember to recycle: empty bottles should be taken to appropriate collection points.

An e-liquid (or liquid for electronic cigarettes) is the product that generates vapour when heated by the coil of an e-cigarette. Unlike traditional cigarettes, there is no combustion. The e-liquid is composed of a base (propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin), flavourings, and optionally nicotine. It is what determines the taste, throat sensation, cloud production, and overall vaping experience.
An e-liquid generally contains four elements:
Some formulas also use alternative vegetable-based bases (Végétol) for extra smoothness.
An e-liquid with nicotine is intended for vapers who wish to replace traditional cigarettes. Nicotine acts on the feeling of satisfaction and reduces cravings. E-liquids without nicotine are used either at the end of a quitting process, or purely for the pleasure of vaping, although it is not recommended to vape if you are not a smoker. Choosing the right nicotine strength is essential to avoid a poor experience (irritation or cravings). The nicotine dosage depends on your previous cigarette consumption. A light smoker will not have the same needs as a heavy smoker. A strength that is too low can lead to frustration and relapse, whilst one that is too high can cause throat discomfort. The aim is to find a balance between hit, sensation and vaping comfort, adjusting progressively as needed. A low strength of 0, 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine is generally recommended for light or occasional smokers (fewer than 7 cigarettes per day), and a high strength of 20 mg/ml of nicotine salt for a heavy smoker (one pack of cigarettes or more). This strength can however be adjusted depending on your e-cigarette and your vaping style.
Nicotine salt is a more stable form of nicotine that is gentler on inhalation. It provides rapid absorption with a less harsh throat hit, even at high strengths. Nicotine salt e-liquids are particularly well suited to beginner vapers, former heavy smokers, and low-wattage MTL kits. Nicotine salts are available in various strengths. The most well-known and effective is 20 mg/ml, which is ideally suited to heavy smokers. However, a 10 mg/ml strength may be perfectly suitable for a regular or occasional smoker.
A nicotine booster is a nicotine-concentrated bottle designed to be added to a large-format e-liquid. It allows you to adjust the final nicotine strength according to the quantity added. Flexible and economical, this solution lets you boost your large-format e-liquid to 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine. For a 50 ml e-liquid, adding one nicotine booster will give you 3 mg/ml, whilst two nicotine boosters will bring your e-liquid up to 6 mg/ml.
The propylene glycol / vegetable glycerin ratio has a significant influence on the vaping experience.
The choice therefore depends on the wattage and compatibility with your e-cigarette. If in doubt, the most common ratio remains 50/50 PG/VG. Balanced, it allows versatile use across MTL, RDL and light DTL e-cigarette models (approximately between 15 and 40 watts).
Vegetable-based e-liquids or those made with Végétol replace traditional propylene glycol. They are often gentler on the throat, better tolerated by vapers who are sensitive to PG, and offer a smoother vape without compromising on flavour. They should however be used in MTL mode at a low wattage (minimum 30 watts) to avoid the risk of leaks and to preserve the quality of the product.
Yes, CBD e-liquids are designed for vaping and generally do not contain nicotine. They offer a different sensation, focused on relaxation, with no addictive effect. They should be used at a moderate wattage to preserve the quality of the product. A tight-draw MTL e-cigarette is recommended for use with them.
E-liquids are considered a much healthier alternative to smoked tobacco. They are formulated from ingredients certified as safe for health, unlike the 7,000 harmful substances found in traditional cigarettes. Nevertheless, to choose a safe e-liquid, a few precautions should be taken, such as purchasing your e-liquid from a recognised retailer such as Le Vapoteur Discount, or checking the composition and origin by favouring reputable and regulated brands.
An e-liquid manufactured in France meets strict requirements and European directives regarding traceability, quality control and safety. As a guarantee of quality and transparency for the consumer, French and European brands generally have their own laboratory for developing their e-liquid formula and are required to have this formulation assessed by an independent laboratory before it is brought to market. These steps ensure that e-liquids are safe for vapers. French and European quality standards prohibit undesirable substances and provide a more secure framework for vaping.
To keep your e-liquid for as long as possible and preserve its quality, taste and colour, you should keep it in its original bottle and ideally away from light, heat and air. Despite these precautions, the e-liquid may take on a slightly brown tint. Safe and fit for consumption, this colour is due to the oxidation of the nicotine and may also depend on the flavouring used in the e-liquid. It is generally recommended not to keep the same e-liquid for more than 5 days in your clearomiser or pod cartridge if you are not using it, to avoid leaks and excessive oxidation.
The DLUO (Date Limite d'Utilisation Optimale) or DDM (Date de Durabilité Minimale) is an indicative date. Once the e-liquid's date has passed, it may lose its taste qualities and appearance (colour, consistency). An e-liquid straight from the factory will have a DDM of approximately 2 years. Even past the DDM, the e-liquid remains fit for vaporisation and will not be harmful to health.
