The Vapoteur Discount guide for your 10 ml e-liquid

An e-liquid is a consumable for e-cigarettes only. The 10 ml format is the only one authorised to contain nicotine under European regulations. Practical, discreet, and easy to carry, it is ideal for trying out a flavour without a long-term commitment or for everyday vaping with complete ease.

What nicotine level should you choose for your e-liquid?

The nicotine level of an e-liquid depends on your smoker profile:

Light smoker (fewer than 5 cigarettes per day): 3 to 6 mg/ml of nicotine. If you smoke little, a low nicotine level may be enough to satisfy your tobacco cravings.

Moderate smoker (5 to 15 cigarettes per day): 6 to 12 mg/ml of nicotine. For those who smoke regularly, an average nicotine level helps to recreate the sensations and satisfaction that match their habits.

Heavy smoker (more than 15 cigarettes per day): 12 to 18 mg/ml of nicotine. If you smoke a lot, you will probably need a high nicotine level to compensate for the strong sensation of withdrawal and the urge to smoke.

Very heavy smoker (more than 20 cigarettes per day): 18 to 20 mg/ml of nicotine. Very heavy smokers need the maximum nicotine level to counterbalance the effects of withdrawal and quitting tobacco. Nicotine salt e-liquids (at 20 mg/ml) have been designed for them.

This estimate is provided as a guide only: every vaper is unique and may reconsider their nicotine level based on their throat sensation and the hardware used.

Choosing the right hardware for an e-liquid with a balanced PG/VG ratio (50/50)

E-cigarette: balanced PG/VG ratios suit the majority of versatile e-cigarettes such as the CoolFire Z80 by Innokin, the Kit Zelos M80 by Aspire, or the iStick T80 by Eleaf.

Pod: The Soul 2 Pod Kit by GeekVape and the Vibe SE by Vaporesso.

Clearomizer: versatile models such as the Zenith 2 by Innokin, the GTX18 by Vaporesso, or the Zeus Nano 2 by GeekVape are compatible with a balanced PG/VG ratio.

Resistance: this ratio is ideal with coils between 1.2 ohm and 0.4 ohm.

Drip tip: a standard 510 drip tip is preferred, but some vapers use it with airier 810 models without noticing any leaks.

Power setting

A balanced PG/VG ratio (50/50) can suit a wide power range between 10 and 50 watts.

Regular maintenance

  • To ensure a long lifespan and optimal performance for your e-cigarette, regular maintenance is crucial:
  • Clean your clearomizer and drip tip frequently to avoid the build-up of residue;
  • Replace coils as soon as you notice a change in taste and a drop in performance (on average every 2 to 3 weeks);
  • Avoid leaving your tank full with the same e-liquid for more than 5 days without using it (risk of leakage, flavour deterioration).

Usage precautions

If you don't smoke, don't vape :)

This product contains nicotine and is prohibited for minors, pregnant women, and people with cardiovascular problems or hypertension.

In case of allergies: check for the presence of any allergens in the composition (limonene, tree nuts, etc.), listed on the product label.

In case of skin contact: the pharmaceutical nicotine contained in e-liquids can be an irritant for sensitive skin. If contact occurs over a large skin area, rinse thoroughly with water and soap.

Storage of your e-liquids: keep your e-liquids in a dry place, away from light and temperature changes. Also keep out of reach of children and pets.

In the interest of environmental responsibility and recycling, we would be grateful if you disposed of empty bottles in the appropriate waste containers.

FAQ

An e-liquid (or liquid for electronic cigarettes) is the product that generates vapour when heated by the coil of an e-cigarette. Unlike traditional cigarettes, there is no combustion. The e-liquid is composed of a base (propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin), flavourings, and optionally nicotine. It determines the taste, the throat sensation, the cloud production, and the overall vaping experience.

An e-liquid generally contains four elements:

  • propylene glycol (PG), which carries the flavours, enhances the throat hit, and delivers a sensation close to that of a cigarette;
  • vegetable glycerin (VG), responsible for the vapour and the density of the cloud;
  • flavourings, which provide the taste (fruit, mint, classic blonde, indulgent, ice…);
  • nicotine, optional, which helps manage cravings for vapers who are quitting.

Some formulas also use alternative plant-based bases (Végétol) for a smoother experience.

An e-liquid with nicotine is intended for vapers who wish to replace traditional cigarettes. Nicotine acts on the feeling of satisfaction and helps reduce cravings. Nicotine-free e-liquids are used either at the end of a quitting programme or simply for the pleasure of vaping, although it is not recommended to vape if you are not a smoker. Choosing the right nicotine level is essential to avoid a poor experience (throat irritation or cravings). The nicotine dosage depends on your previous cigarette consumption. A light smoker will not have the same needs as a heavy smoker. Too low a level can lead to frustration and relapse, while too high a level can cause throat discomfort. The goal is to find a balance between hit, sensation, and vaping comfort, adjusting gradually as needed. A low dosage of 0, 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine is generally recommended for light smokers or occasional smokers (fewer than 7 cigarettes per day), and a high dosage of 20 mg/ml of nicotine salt for heavy smokers (1 packet of cigarettes or more). However, this dosage can be adjusted depending on your e-cigarette and your vaping style.

Nicotine salt is a more stable form of nicotine that is smoother to inhale. It provides rapid absorption with a less aggressive throat hit, even at high levels. Nicotine salt e-liquids are particularly suited to beginner vapers, former heavy smokers, and low-power MTL kits. Various nicotine salt dosages are available. The best-known and most effective is 20 mg/ml, highly suitable for heavy smokers. However, a dosage of 10 mg/ml may be perfectly appropriate for a regular or occasional smoker.

A nicotine booster is a nicotine-concentrated bottle designed to be added to a large-format e-liquid. It allows you to adjust the final nicotine level depending on the quantity added. Flexible and economical, this solution lets you boost your large-format e-liquid to 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine. For a 50 ml e-liquid, adding one nicotine booster will give you 3 mg/ml; two nicotine boosters will bring your e-liquid up to 6 mg/ml.

The propylene glycol / vegetable glycerin ratio strongly influences the vaping experience.

  • An e-liquid rich in propylene glycol or PG (70/30, 80/20) enhances the hit, the precision of flavours, and a discreet vape. The e-liquid will be fluid and compatible only with MTL equipment with a tight draw to avoid leaks.
  • An e-liquid rich in vegetable glycerin or VG (30/70) produces more vapour and cloud, with a smoother, sweeter sensation. This thicker e-liquid will be compatible with sub-ohm or shisha-type e-cigarettes, producing large clouds of vapour at high power.

The choice therefore depends on the power and compatibility with your e-cigarette. If in doubt, the most common ratio remains 50/50 PG/VG. Balanced, it allows versatile use across MTL, RDL, and light DTL e-cigarette models (between approximately 15 and 40 watts).

Plant-based or Végétol e-liquids replace traditional propylene glycol. They are often gentler on the throat, better tolerated by vapers who are sensitive to PG, and offer a smoother vape without compromising on flavour. However, they should be used in MTL mode at low power (minimum 30 watts) to avoid the risk of leaks and preserve the quality of the product.

Yes, CBD e-liquids are designed for vaping and generally do not contain nicotine. They offer a different sensation, focused on relaxation, without any addictive effect. They should be used at moderate wattage to preserve the quality of the product. For best results, use them with a tight-draw MTL electronic cigarette.

E-liquids are considered a much healthier alternative to smoked tobacco. They are formulated from ingredients certified as safe for health, unlike the 7,000 harmful substances found in traditional cigarettes. Nevertheless, to choose a safe e-liquid, a few precautions should be taken, such as buying your e-liquid from a recognised retailer like Le Vapoteur Discount, or checking the composition and origin by favouring reputable and controlled brands.

An e-liquid manufactured in France meets strict requirements and European directives regarding traceability, control, and safety. As a mark of quality and transparency for the consumer, French and European brands generally have their own laboratory for developing their e-liquid formulas and are required to have these formulations tested by an independent laboratory before going to market. All these steps guarantee safe e-liquids for vapers. These French and European quality standards prohibit undesirable substances and provide a more secure framework for vaping.

To keep your e-liquid for as long as possible and preserve its quality, taste, and colour, it should be kept in its original bottle and ideally away from light, heat, and air. Despite these precautions, the e-liquid may take on a slightly brown tint. Safe and suitable for use, this colour is due to the oxidation of nicotine and may also depend on the flavouring used in the e-liquid. It is generally recommended not to keep the same e-liquid for more than 5 days in your clearomiser or pod cartridge if you are not using it, in order to avoid leaks and excessive oxidation.

The DLUO (Date Limite d'Utilisation Optimale) or BBD (Best Before Date) is an indicative date. Once the e-liquid's date has passed, it may lose its taste qualities and its appearance (colour, fluidity). An e-liquid straight from the factory will have a BBD of approximately 2 years. Even past the BBD, the e-liquid remains suitable for vaporisation and will not be harmful to health.
