The advantage of a concentrated flavour for DIY

The DIY concentrated flavour gives you the freedom to create your own blends at a great value for money. By mixing your own e-liquid, you can achieve personalised flavours tailored to your taste, while controlling your nicotine dosage.

It is also a more economical solution: a single bottle of flavour concentrate can be used to prepare several dozen millilitres of e-liquid, at a lower cost than ready-to-vape e-liquids.

For demanding vaping enthusiasts, DIY is a cost-effective experience.

Required equipment

To create your own DIY e-liquid, you will need:

• A concentrated flavour for DIY ;
• A PG/VG neutral base (with or without nicotine) ;
• An additive (optional) ;
• One or more empty bottles to store your mixes ;
• A pipette or a graduated bottle ;
• Latex gloves and protective goggles if you need to handle nicotine.

Before any handling, make sure to work on a clean, washed surface out of reach of children and animals.

DIY flavour dosage

A concentrated flavour must be diluted in a PG/VG base and cannot be vaped on its own.

Depending on the manufacturer, a DIY flavour concentrate has a different dilution rate, always expressed as a percentage: 4%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%.

In practice, with our 200 ml DIY Pack in 50/50 PG/VG, this would give:

• 4% of total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 8 ml of flavour to add to your 200 ml base
• 10% of total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 20 ml of flavour to add to your 200 ml base
• 15% of total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 30 ml of flavour to add to your 200 ml base
• 20% of total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 40 ml of flavour to add to your 200 ml base
• 25% of total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 50 ml of flavour to add to your 200 ml base

In a 70/30 base:

If your neutral base contains more propylene glycol (flavour enhancer), we recommend reducing the dosage of your flavour (from 15 to a minimum of 12%).

In a 30/70 base:

If your neutral base contains more vegetable glycerin (which softens flavours), we recommend adding a little more flavour to your mix (from 15 to 17%).

Steeping

Let your e-liquid rest for a few days to a few weeks to allow the flavours to fully develop. Some flavours require more steeping time than others:

• Simple fruity flavours: 0 to 5 days ;
• Complex fruity flavours (raspberry, orange, apple, blackberry, watermelon, dragon fruit...): 5 to 7 days ;
• Menthol, spiced, vanilla, or anise flavours: 10 to 15 days ;
• Dessert flavours: 15 to 20 days ;
• Classic flavours: approximately 15 days.

After the steeping period, test your liquid. You can adjust the flavour by adding base to tone it down or adding flavour concentrate to enhance it, if needed.

Storage

To preserve all the qualities of your DIY e-liquid:

• Store it in a dry place, away from light and heat ;
• Note the manufacturing date and ingredients on each bottle ;
• Always store your preparations out of reach of children and animals.
