The Le Vapoteur Discount guide to your plant-based e-liquid

Benefits of a 100% plant-based base

Plant-based e-liquids represent a more natural and often better-tolerated alternative to traditional e-liquids. Instead of propylene glycol, they contain components derived from plant-based resources such as Végétol, Olivéine or Vegetable Mono Propylene Glycol (VMPG).

These bases offer several advantages: they are gentler on the throat, reduce the risk of irritation or dryness, and are better suited to vapers who are sensitive to or allergic to standard PG.

Végétol, for example, is recognised for its superior nicotine delivery, with fast and efficient absorption, while ensuring excellent flavour stability.

Eco-friendly, better tolerated and often compatible with mouth-to-lung (MTL) vaping, these plant-based bases are increasingly appealing to vapers looking for a healthier and more natural experience.

Several nicotine levels to support you through your withdrawal

Light smoker (fewer than 5 cigarettes per day): 3 to 6 mg/ml of nicotine. If you smoke very little, a low nicotine level may be enough to satisfy your tobacco cravings.

Light smoker (5 to 15 cigarettes per day): 6 to 12 mg/ml of nicotine. For those who smoke regularly, a moderate nicotine level will help you rediscover the sensations and satisfaction that match your habits.

Heavy smoker (more than 15 cigarettes per day): 12 to 18 mg/ml of nicotine. If you smoke a lot, you will probably need a high nicotine level to compensate for the strong sensation of withdrawal and the urge to smoke.

Heavy smoker (more than 20 cigarettes per day): 18 and 20 mg/ml of nicotine. Heavy smokers need the maximum nicotine level to counterbalance the effects of withdrawal and quitting smoking.

This estimate is for guidance purposes only; every vaper is unique and may reconsider their nicotine level based on their throat sensation and the device used.

Choosing the right hardware for plant-based e-liquids

Plant-based e-liquids offer a balance suited to versatile e-cigarettes and small compact pod-type devices. Sub-ohm devices with coils between 0.4 and 0.15 ohm should be avoided, as they produce too airy a draw.

E-cigarette: plant-based e-liquids are suitable for most versatile e-cigarettes such as the CoolFire Z80 by Innokin, the Kit Zelos M80 by Aspire or the iStick T80 by Eleaf.

Pod: The Soul 2 Pod Kit by GeekVape and the Vibe SE by Vaporesso.

Clearomizer: versatile models such as the Zenith 2 by Innokin, the GTX18 by Vaporesso or the Zeus Nano 2 by GeekVape are compatible with plant-based e-liquids.

Coil: ideal with coils between 1.2 ohm and 0.4 ohm maximum.

Drip tip: a standard 510 format drip tip is preferred.

Power settings

A setting between 10 and 30 watts is suitable for plant-based e-liquids.

Regular maintenance

To ensure a long lifespan and optimal performance for your e-cigarette, regular maintenance is essential:

• Frequently clean your clearomizer and drip tip to prevent the build-up of residue;

• Replace the coils as soon as you notice a change in taste and a decrease in performance (on average every 2 to 3 weeks);

• Avoid leaving your tank full with the same e-liquid for more than 5 days without using it (risk of leaks and flavour degradation).

Usage precautions

If you don't smoke, don't vape :)

This product contains nicotine and is prohibited for minors, pregnant women, and people with cardiovascular problems or high blood pressure.

In case of allergies: check for the presence of any allergens in the ingredients (limonene, tree nuts, etc.) listed on the product label.

In case of skin contact: the pharmaceutical nicotine contained in e-liquids can be an irritant for sensitive skin. If contact occurs over a large area of skin, rinse thoroughly with soap and water.

Storing your e-liquids: keep your e-liquids in a dry place, away from light and temperature changes. Also keep out of reach of children and pets.

Out of respect for the environment and recycling, we would be grateful if you could dispose of empty bottles in the appropriate waste bins.

FAQ

An e-liquid (or electronic cigarette liquid) is the product that generates vapour when heated by the coil of an electronic cigarette. Unlike traditional cigarettes, there is no combustion. The e-liquid is made up of a base (propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin), flavourings, and optionally nicotine. It determines the taste, the throat hit, the cloud production, and the overall vaping experience.

An e-liquid generally contains four elements:
  • propylene glycol (PG), which carries the flavourings, enhances the throat hit and provides a sensation close to that of a cigarette ;
  • vegetable glycerine (VG), responsible for the vapour and the density of the cloud ;
  • flavourings, which give the taste (fruit, mint, classic blonde, dessert, ice…) ;
  • nicotine, optional, which helps manage cravings for vapers who are cutting down.
Some formulas also use alternative plant-based bases (Végétol) for extra smoothness.

An e-liquid with nicotine is intended for vapers who wish to replace traditional cigarettes. Nicotine acts on the sensation of satisfaction and limits cravings. E-liquids without nicotine are used either at the end of a cessation programme, or purely for the pleasure of vaping, although it is not recommended to vape if you are not a smoker. Choosing the right nicotine level is essential to avoid a bad experience (throat irritation or cravings). The nicotine dosage depends on your previous cigarette consumption. A light smoker will not have the same needs as a heavy smoker. A level that is too low can lead to frustration and relapse, whilst a level that is too high can cause throat discomfort. The aim is to find a balance between throat hit, sensation and vaping comfort, adjusting gradually as needed. A low dosage of 0, 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine is generally recommended for light smokers or occasional smokers (fewer than 7 cigarettes per day), and a high dosage of 20 mg/ml of nicotine salt for a heavy smoker (1 packet of cigarettes or more). However, this dosage can be adjusted depending on your e-cigarette and your vaping style.

Nicotine salt is a more stable and smoother form of nicotine to inhale. It provides rapid absorption, with a less harsh throat hit, even at high strengths. Nicotine salt e-liquids are particularly suited to beginner vapers, former heavy smokers, and low-powered MTL kits. There are various nicotine salt strengths. The most well-known and effective being 20 mg/ml, which is highly suitable for heavy smokers. However, a 10 mg/ml strength can work very well for a regular or occasional smoker.

A nicotine booster is a nicotine-concentrated bottle, designed to be added to a large-format e-liquid. It allows you to adjust the final nicotine level according to the quantity added. Flexible and economical, this solution allows you to boost your large-format e-liquid to 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine. For a 50 ml e-liquid, adding one nicotine booster will give you 3 mg/ml, while two nicotine boosters will transform your e-liquid into 6 mg/ml.

The propylene glycol / vegetable glycerine ratio strongly influences the vape.
  • An e-liquid rich in propylene glycol or PG (70/30, 80/20) enhances the throat hit, flavour accuracy and a discreet vape. The e-liquid will be thin and only compatible with MTL equipment with a tight draw to avoid leaks.
  • An e-liquid rich in vegetable glycerine or VG (30/70) produces more vapour and clouds, with a smoother, sweeter sensation. This thicker e-liquid will be compatible with sub-ohm or shisha-type e-cigarettes, producing large clouds of vapour at high power.
The choice therefore depends on the power and compatibility with your e-cigarette. If in doubt, the most common ratio remains 50/50 PG/VG. Balanced, it allows versatile use on MTL, RDL and light DTL e-cigarette models (between approximately 15 and 40 watts).

E-liquids with a vegetable base or Végétol replace traditional propylene glycol. They are often gentler on the throat, better tolerated by some vapers who are sensitive to PG, and offer a smoother vape without compromising on flavour. However, they should be used in MTL with a low wattage (minimum 30 watts) to avoid the risk of leaks and preserve the quality of the product.

Yes, CBD e-liquids are designed for vaping and generally do not contain nicotine. They offer a different sensation, focused on relaxation, without any addictive effect. They should be used at moderate wattage to preserve the quality of the product. A tight-draw MTL e-cigarette is recommended for use with them.

E-liquids are considered a much healthier alternative to smoked tobacco. They are formulated from ingredients certified as safe for health, unlike the 7,000 harmful substances found in traditional cigarettes. Nevertheless, to choose a safe e-liquid, a few precautions should be taken, such as buying your e-liquid from a recognised retailer like Le Vapoteur Discount, or checking the composition and origin by favouring reputable and regulated brands.

An e-liquid manufactured in France meets strict requirements and European directives regarding traceability, control and safety. As a guarantee of quality and transparency for the consumer, French and European brands generally have their own laboratory for developing their e-liquid formulas and are required to have this formulation studied by an independent laboratory before it goes to market. All these steps ensure that e-liquids are safe for vapers. These French and European quality standards prohibit undesirable substances and provide a more secure framework for vaping.

To keep your e-liquid as long as possible and preserve its quality, taste and colour, it should be kept in its original bottle and ideally away from light, heat and air. Despite these precautions, the e-liquid may take on a slightly brown tint. Safe and suitable for consumption, this colour is due to the oxidation of nicotine and may also depend on the flavouring used in the e-liquid. It is generally recommended not to keep the same e-liquid for more than 5 days in your clearomiser or pod cartridge if you are not using it, to avoid leaks and excessive oxidation.

The DLUO (Date Limite d'Utilisation Optimale) or BBD (Best Before Date) is an indicative date. Once the e-liquid's date has passed, it may lose its taste qualities and appearance (colour, fluidity). An e-liquid straight from the factory will have a BBD of approximately 2 years. Even past the BBD, the e-liquid remains suitable for vaping and will not be harmful to health.
