FAQ

The coil is the part of the clearomiser that heats the e-liquid to turn it into vapour. It consists of a resistive wire and an absorbent material (organic cotton or cellulose fibre) that retains the liquid. The coil directly influences the taste, vapour production and heat during vaping. Without a functioning coil, your e-cigarette will produce neither vapour nor flavour.

A coil should be replaced as soon as you notice a decrease in flavour, a burnt taste, or less vapour production. On average, the lifespan of a coil varies between 1 and 3 weeks, depending on the frequency of use, the type of e-liquid (sweeter = faster build-up) and the wattage used. Sub-ohm coils tend to wear out more quickly than higher-resistance MTL coils.

The choice depends on the type of draw and power:

MTL (mouth to lung): coils above 1 ohm, tight draw, moderate vapour.
RDL / DTL (direct lung): sub-ohm coils (<1 ohm), airy draw, significant vapour production.

Always check the recommended wattage range printed on the coil to avoid burnt hits or premature wear.

No, compatibility depends on the model and brand of your clearomiser or pod. Manufacturers design coils specific to each model. Using an incompatible coil can cause leaks, poor draw, or a burnt taste. Always consult your kit's manual or the manufacturer's instructions to choose the correct reference.

Yes! A few simple steps can extend its lifespan:

Prime the coil before first use by applying a few drops of e-liquid onto the cotton.
Respect the indicated power range.
Change flavour gradually, especially if you use very sweet liquids.
Regularly clean the tank and contacts to avoid deposits and residue that clog the cotton.

To ensure a pleasant and safe vaping experience, opt for original coils or models certified by manufacturers (Aspire, GeekVape, Vaporesso, Voopoo, etc.). At Le Vapoteur Discount, you will find a wide range of coils compatible with all clearomisers and pods, sold at attractive prices and in multipacks, so you always have a spare coil to hand.
