The advantage of a concentrated flavouring for DIY

The DIY concentrated flavouring gives you the freedom to create your own mixes at a great value for money. By mixing your own e-liquid, you can achieve personalised flavours tailored to your tastes, while controlling the nicotine dosage.

It is also a more economical solution: a single bottle of flavouring can prepare several dozen millilitres of e-liquid, at a lower cost than ready-to-vape e-liquids.

For demanding vaping enthusiasts, DIY is therefore a cost-effective experience.

The necessary equipment

To create your own DIY e-liquid, you will need:

• A concentrated flavouring for DIY ;
• A neutral PG/VG base (with or without nicotine) ;
• An additive (optional) ;
• One or more empty bottles to transport your mixes ;
• A pipette or a graduated bottle ;
• Latex gloves and protective goggles if you need to handle nicotine.

Before any handling, make sure to work on a clean, washed surface, out of reach of children and animals.

DIY flavouring dosage

A concentrated flavouring must be diluted in a PG/VG base and cannot be vaped on its own.

Depending on the manufacturer, a DIY flavouring has a different dilution rate, always expressed as a percentage: 4%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%.

Concretely, in our 200 ml DIY Pack at 50/50 PG/VG, this would give:

• 4% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 8 ml of flavouring to add to your 200 ml base
• 10% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 20 ml of flavouring to add to your 200 ml base
• 15% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 30 ml of flavouring to add to your 200 ml base
• 20% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 40 ml of flavouring to add to your 200 ml base
• 25% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 50 ml of flavouring to add to your 200 ml base

In a 70/30 base:

If your neutral base contains more propylene glycol (flavour enhancer), we recommend reducing the dosage of your flavouring (from 15 to a minimum of 12%).

In a 30/70 base:

If your neutral base contains more vegetable glycerin (which softens flavours), we recommend adding a little more flavouring to your mix (from 15 to 17%).

Steeping

Let your e-liquid rest for a few days to a few weeks so the flavours fully develop. Some flavourings require more steeping time than others:

• Simple fruity flavourings: 0 to 5 days ;
• Complex fruity flavourings (raspberry, orange, apple, blackberry, watermelon, dragon fruit...): 5 to 7 days ;
• Menthol, spiced, vanilla, or anise flavourings: 10 to 15 days ;
• Dessert flavourings: 15 to 20 days ;
• Classic flavourings: approximately 15 days.

After the steeping period, test your liquid. You can adjust the flavour by adding base to soften it or adding flavouring to strengthen it, if needed.

Storage

To preserve all the qualities of your DIY e-liquid:

• Store it in a dry place, away from light and heat ;
• Note the manufacturing date and ingredients on each bottle ;
• Always store your preparations out of reach of children and animals.
