The advantage of a concentrated flavouring for DIY

The concentrated DIY flavouring gives you the freedom to create your own blends at a great value for money. By blending your own e-liquid, you can achieve personalised flavours tailored to your tastes, while keeping full control over the nicotine dosage.

It is also a more economical solution: a single bottle of flavouring can be used to prepare several dozen millilitres of e-liquid, at a lower cost than ready-to-vape e-liquids.

For demanding vape enthusiasts, DIY is thus a cost-effective experience.

Required equipment

In order to create your own DIY e-liquid, you will need :

• A concentrated flavouring for DIY ;
• A PG/VG neutral base (with or without nicotine) ;
• An additive (optional) ;
• One or more empty bottles to store your blends ;
• A pipette or a graduated bottle ;
• Latex gloves and safety goggles if you need to handle nicotine.

Before any handling, make sure to work on a clean, washed surface out of reach of children and animals.

DIY flavouring dosage

A concentrated flavouring must be diluted in a PG/VG base and cannot be vaped on its own.

Depending on the manufacturer, a DIY flavouring has a different dilution rate, always expressed as a percentage: 4%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%.

Concretely, in our 200 ml DIY Pack at 50/50 PG/VG, this would give :

• 4% of total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 8 ml of flavouring to add to your 200 ml base
• 10% of total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 20 ml of flavouring to add to your 200 ml base
• 15% of total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 30 ml of flavouring to add to your 200 ml base
• 20% of total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 40 ml of flavouring to add to your 200 ml base
• 25% of total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 50 ml of flavouring to add to your 200 ml base

In a 70/30 base:

If your neutral base contains more propylene glycol (a flavour enhancer), we advise you to reduce the dosage of your flavouring (from 15 to 12% minimum).

In a 30/70 base:

If your neutral base contains more vegetable glycerin (which attenuates flavours), we advise you to add a little extra flavouring to your blend (from 15 to 17%).

Steeping

Let your e-liquid rest for a few days to a few weeks to allow the flavours to fully develop. Some flavourings require more steeping time than others :

• Simple fruit flavourings: 0 to 5 days ;
• Complex fruit flavourings (raspberry, orange, apple, blackberry, watermelon, dragon fruit...): 5 to 7 days ;
• Menthol, spiced, vanilla, or anise flavourings: 10 to 15 days ;
• Dessert flavourings: 15 to 20 days ;
• Classic flavourings: approximately 15 days.

After the steeping period, test your liquid. You can adjust the flavour by adding base to reduce it or adding flavouring to enhance it, if necessary.

Storage

To preserve all the qualities of your DIY e-liquid :

• Store it in a dry place, away from light and heat ;
• Note the manufacturing date and ingredients on each bottle ;
• Always store your preparations out of reach of children and animals.
