The advantage of a concentrated flavor for DIY

The DIY concentrated flavor gives you the freedom to create your own mixes at a great value for money. By mixing your own e-liquid, it is possible to obtain personalized flavors adapted to your tastes, while controlling the nicotine dosage.

It is also a more cost-effective solution: a single bottle of flavor can prepare several dozen milliliters of e-liquid, at a lower cost than ready-to-vape e-liquids.

For demanding vaping enthusiasts, DIY is thus a worthwhile experience.

Required equipment

In order to create your own DIY e-liquid, you will need:

• A concentrated flavor for DIY;
• A neutral PG/VG base (with or without nicotine);
• An additive (optional);
• One or more empty bottles to transport your mixes;
• A pipette or a graduated bottle;
• Latex gloves and safety glasses if you need to handle nicotine.

Before any handling, make sure to work on a clean, washed surface out of reach of children and animals.

DIY flavor dosage

A concentrated flavor must be diluted in a PG/VG base and cannot be vaped on its own.

Depending on the manufacturer, a DIY flavor has a different dilution rate, always expressed as a percentage: 4%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%.

Concretely, in our 200 ml DIY Pack at 50/50 PG/VG, this would give:

• 4% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 8 ml of flavor to add to your 200 ml base
• 10% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 20 ml of flavor to add to your 200 ml base
• 15% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 30 ml of flavor to add to your 200 ml base
• 20% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 40 ml of flavor to add to your 200 ml base
• 25% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 50 ml of flavor to add to your 200 ml base

In a 70/30 base:

If your neutral base contains more propylene glycol (flavor enhancer), we recommend reducing the dosage of your flavor (from 15 to at least 12%).

In a 30/70 base:

If your neutral base contains more vegetable glycerin (which softens flavors), we recommend adding a little more flavor to your mix (from 15 to 17%).

Steeping

Let your e-liquid rest for a few days to a few weeks so that the flavors develop fully. Some flavors require more steeping time than others:

• Simple fruity flavors: 0 to 5 days;
• Complex fruity flavors (raspberry, orange, apple, blackberry, watermelon, dragon fruit...): 5 to 7 days;
• Menthol, spiced, vanilla, or anise flavors: 10 to 15 days;
• Dessert flavors: 15 to 20 days;
• Classic flavors: approximately 15 days.

After the steeping period, test your liquid. You can adjust the flavor by adding base to tone it down or by adding flavor to strengthen it, if necessary.

Storage

To preserve all the qualities of your DIY e-liquid:

• Store it in a dry place, away from light and heat;
• Note the manufacturing date and ingredients on each bottle;
• Always store your preparations out of reach of children and animals.
