How to use your DIY flavour concentrate

A flavour concentrate is an ingredient for making your own e-liquid, or DIY (“Do It Yourself”). It must never be vaped on its own: it must be diluted in a neutral propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerine (VG) base, with or without nicotine. DIY lets you freely choose the flavour, PG/VG ratio and nicotine strength of your e-liquid.

What you need

A flavour concentrate for DIY, with the dosage specified by the manufacturer.

A neutral PG/VG base, with or without nicotine, or nicotine boosters to adjust the strength.

Empty bottles and a graduated bottle, a syringe or pipette for precise dosing, available in the DIY accessories section.

Gloves and safety glasses if you are handling nicotine.

Work on a clean surface, out of the reach of children and animals.

How do you dose a DIY flavour concentrate?

The dosage is expressed as a percentage of the final volume and varies according to the manufacturer: it is stated on the label or product page for each flavour.

Flavour volume required according to the recommended dosage and final e-liquid volume, and amount to add to the 200 ml base in the DIY Pack:

The DIY Pack's 50 ml of free space accommodates flavour dosed up to 20%. The base ratio also affects the result: in a PG-rich base (70/30 or 80/20), which enhances flavours, the dosage can be reduced by a few points; in a VG-rich base (30/70), which softens them, it can be slightly increased. Preparation steps

Pour in the base into a graduated bottle, leaving the necessary space for the flavour and any boosters.

Add the flavour following the dosage recommended by the manufacturer, then add nicotine boosters if needed.

Close and shake vigorously to blend the mixture evenly.

Leave to steep away from light, opening the bottle occasionally for a few minutes to let it air.

Taste and adjust: add a little base to soften the flavour, or flavour concentrate to enhance it.

Steeping

The resting time allows the flavours to blend and develop. It depends on the type of flavour:

A flavour concentrate must never be vaped on its own: it must always be diluted in a PG/VG base.
