The advantage of a concentrated flavoring for DIY

DIY concentrated flavoring gives you the freedom to create your own blends at great value for money. By mixing your own e-liquid, you can achieve personalized flavors tailored to your tastes, while controlling the nicotine dosage.

It is also a more economical solution: a single bottle of flavoring can prepare several dozen milliliters of e-liquid, at a lower cost than ready-to-vape e-liquids.

For demanding vape enthusiasts, DIY is a cost-effective experience.

Required equipment

To create your own DIY e-liquid, you will need:

• A concentrated flavoring for DIY ;
• A neutral PG/VG base (with or without nicotine) ;
• An additive (optional) ;
• One or more empty bottles to carry your blends ;
• A pipette or a graduated bottle ;
• Latex gloves and safety glasses if you need to handle nicotine.

Before any handling, make sure to work on a clean, washed surface out of reach of children and animals.

DIY flavoring dosage

A concentrated flavoring must be diluted in a PG/VG base and cannot be vaped on its own.

Depending on the manufacturer, a DIY flavoring has a different dilution rate, always expressed as a percentage: 4%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%.

Concretely, in our 200 ml DIY Pack at 50/50 PG/VG, this would give:

• 4% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 8 ml of flavoring to add to your 200 ml base
• 10% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 20 ml of flavoring to add to your 200 ml base
• 15% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 30 ml of flavoring to add to your 200 ml base
• 20% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 40 ml of flavoring to add to your 200 ml base
• 25% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 50 ml of flavoring to add to your 200 ml base

In a 70/30 base:

If your neutral base contains more propylene glycol (flavor enhancer), we recommend reducing the dosage of your flavoring (from 15 to a minimum of 12%).

In a 30/70 base:

If your neutral base contains more vegetable glycerin (which softens flavors), we recommend adding a little more flavoring to your blend (from 15 to 17%).

Steeping

Let your e-liquid rest for a few days to a few weeks so the flavors fully develop. Some flavorings require more steeping time than others:

• Simple fruit flavorings: 0 to 5 days ;
• Complex fruit flavorings (raspberry, orange, apple, blackberry, watermelon, dragon fruit...): 5 to 7 days ;
• Menthol, spiced, vanilla, or anise flavorings: 10 to 15 days ;
• Dessert flavorings: 15 to 20 days ;
• Classic flavorings: approximately 15 days.

After the steeping period, test your liquid. You can adjust the flavor by adding base to tone it down or adding flavoring to strengthen it, if necessary.

Storage

To preserve all the qualities of your DIY e-liquid:

• Store it in a dry place, away from light and heat ;
• Note the manufacturing date and ingredients on each bottle ;
• Always store your preparations out of reach of children and animals.
