The advantage of a concentrated aroma for DIY

The DIY concentrated aroma gives you the freedom to create your own blends at a great value for money. By mixing your own e-liquid, it is possible to obtain customised flavours tailored to your tastes, while controlling the nicotine dosage.

It is also a more cost-effective solution: a single aroma bottle allows you to prepare several dozen milliliters of e-liquid, at a lower cost than ready-to-vape e-liquids.

For demanding vape enthusiasts, DIY is therefore a cost-effective experience.

Required equipment

In order to create your own DIY e-liquid, you will need:

• A concentrated aroma for DIY;
• A neutral PG/VG base (with or without nicotine);
• An additive (optional);
• One or more empty bottles to carry your mixes;
• A pipette or a graduated bottle;
• Latex gloves and safety glasses if you need to handle nicotine.

Before any handling, make sure to work on a clean, washed surface out of reach of children and animals.

DIY aroma dosage

A concentrated aroma must be diluted in a PG/VG base and cannot be vaped on its own.

Depending on the manufacturer, a DIY aroma has a different dilution rate, always expressed as a percentage: 4%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%.

Concretely, in our 200 ml DIY Pack in 50/50 PG/VG, this would give:

• 4% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 8 ml of aroma to add to your 200 ml base
• 10% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 20 ml of aroma to add to your 200 ml base
• 15% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 30 ml of aroma to add to your 200 ml base
• 20% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 40 ml of aroma to add to your 200 ml base
• 25% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 50 ml of aroma to add to your 200 ml base

In a 70/30 base:

If your neutral base contains more propylene glycol (flavour enhancer), we recommend reducing the dosage of your aroma (from 15 to a minimum of 12%).

In a 30/70 base:

If your neutral base contains more vegetable glycerin (which softens flavours), we recommend adding a little more aroma to your mix (from 15 to 17%).

Maturation

Let your e-liquid rest for a few days to a few weeks so that the aromas fully develop. Some aromas require more maturation time than others:

• Simple fruit aromas: 0 to 5 days;
• Complex fruit aromas (raspberry, orange, apple, blackberry, watermelon, dragon fruit...): 5 to 7 days;
• Menthol, spiced, vanilla, or anise aromas: 10 to 15 days;
• Dessert aromas: 15 to 20 days;
• Classic aromas: approximately 15 days.

After the maturation period, test your liquid. You can adjust the flavour by adding base to tone it down or adding aroma to strengthen it, if needed.

Storage

To preserve all the qualities of your DIY e-liquid:

• Store it in a dry place, away from light and heat;
• Note the manufacturing date and ingredients on each bottle;
• Always store your preparations out of reach of children and animals.
