Plant-based e-liquids represent a more natural and often better-tolerated alternative to traditional e-liquids. Instead of propylene glycol, they contain components derived from plant-based resources such as Végétol, Olivéine, or Vegetable Mono Propylene Glycol (VMPG).
These bases offer several advantages: they are gentler on the throat, reduce the risk of irritation or dryness, and are better suited to vapers who are sensitive or allergic to standard PG.
Végétol, for example, is recognized for its superior nicotine delivery, with fast and effective diffusion, while ensuring excellent flavor stability.
Eco-friendly, better tolerated, and often compatible with mouth-to-lung (MTL) vaping, these plant-based bases are increasingly popular among vapers looking for a healthier and more natural experience.
E-liquids in 40 ml nicotine-free format can be used without adding a nicotine booster. If you are an occasional or moderate smoker, we recommend adding one or two boosters to prepare your e-liquid at a level of 4 or 6.7 mg/ml.
Nectar 40 ml e-liquids are not over-boosted with flavoring, so adding nicotine boosters may dilute the taste. We recommend adding a maximum of one to two boosters, or opting for the already-nicotined 10 ml versions.
Tip: to avoid losing flavor, use the same e-liquid in the 10 ml and 18 mg/ml version instead of a neutral booster.
E-liquids with a plant-based base offer a balance suited to versatile e-cigarettes and small compact pod-type models. They should be kept away from sub-ohm models with coils between 0.4 and 0.15 ohm, which are too airy.
E-cigarette: plant-based e-liquids are suitable for the majority of versatile e-cigarettes such as the CoolFire Z80 by Innokin, the Kit Zelos M80 by Aspire, or the iStick T80 by Eleaf.
Pod: The Kit pod Soul 2 by GeekVape and the Vibe SE by Vaporesso.
Clearomizer: versatile models such as the Zenith 2 by Innokin, the GTX18 by Vaporesso, or the Zeus Nano 2 by GeekVape are compatible with plant-based e-liquids.
Coil: ideal with coils between 1.2 ohm and 0.4 ohm maximum.
Drip tip: a standard 510 format drip tip is preferred.
A setting between 10 and 30 watts maximum is suitable for plant-based e-liquids.
To ensure a long lifespan and optimal performance for your e-cigarette, regular maintenance is crucial:
• Regularly clean your clearomizer and drip tip to avoid residue build-up;
• Replace the coils as soon as you notice a change in taste and a drop in performance (on average every 2 to 3 weeks);
• Avoid leaving your tank full with the same e-liquid for more than 5 days without using it (risk of leaking, flavor degradation).
If you don't smoke, don't vape :)

An e-liquid (or electronic cigarette liquid) is the product that generates vapour when heated by the coil of an electronic cigarette. Unlike traditional cigarettes, there is no combustion. The e-liquid is composed of a base (propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin), flavourings, and optionally nicotine. It is what determines the taste, the throat sensation, the cloud production, and the overall vaping experience.
An e-liquid generally contains four elements:
Some formulas also use alternative plant-based bases (Végétol) for extra smoothness.
An e-liquid with nicotine is intended for vapers who wish to replace traditional cigarettes. Nicotine acts on the sensation of satisfaction and reduces cravings. Nicotine-free e-liquids are used either at the end of a quit-smoking journey, or purely for the pleasure of vaping, although it is not recommended to vape if you are not a smoker. Choosing the right nicotine strength is essential to avoid a poor experience (irritation or cravings). The nicotine dosage depends on your previous cigarette consumption. A light smoker will not have the same needs as a heavy smoker. A strength that is too low can lead to frustration and relapse, whilst a strength that is too high can cause throat discomfort. The goal is to find a balance between throat hit, sensation, and vaping comfort, adjusting gradually as needed. A low dosage of 0, 3, or 6 mg/ml of nicotine is generally recommended for light or occasional smokers (fewer than 7 cigarettes per day), and a high dosage of 20 mg/ml nicotine salt for heavy smokers (one pack of cigarettes or more). However, this dosage can be adjusted depending on your e-cigarette and your vaping style.
Nicotine salt is a more stable and smoother form of nicotine to inhale. It provides rapid absorption, with a less harsh throat hit, even at high strengths. Nicotine salt e-liquids are particularly suited to beginner vapers, former heavy smokers, and low-wattage MTL kits. Nicotine salts come in various strengths. The most well-known and effective is 20 mg/ml, highly suited to heavy smokers. However, a 10 mg/ml strength can work very well for a regular or occasional smoker.
A nicotine booster is a concentrated nicotine bottle designed to be added to a large-format e-liquid. It allows you to adjust the final nicotine level depending on the quantity added. Flexible and cost-effective, this solution lets you boost your large-format e-liquid to 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine. For a 50 ml e-liquid, adding one nicotine booster will give you 3 mg/ml, while two nicotine boosters will bring your e-liquid up to 6 mg/ml.
The propylene glycol / vegetable glycerine ratio strongly influences the vaping experience.
The choice therefore depends on the wattage and compatibility with your e-cigarette. If in doubt, the most common ratio remains 50/50 PG/VG. Balanced, it allows versatile use on MTL, RDL, and light DTL e-cigarette models (between approximately 15 and 40 watts).
Vegetable-based or Végétol e-liquids replace traditional propylene glycol. They are often gentler on the throat, better tolerated by vapers who are sensitive to PG, and offer a smoother vape without compromising on flavour. However, they should be used in MTL mode at low wattage (minimum 30 watts) to avoid the risk of leaks and to preserve the quality of the product.
Yes, CBD e-liquids are designed for vaping and generally do not contain nicotine. They offer a different sensation, focused on relaxation, without any addictive effect. They should be used at moderate wattage to preserve the quality of the product. A tight-draw MTL e-cigarette is recommended for use with them.
E-liquids are considered a much healthier alternative to smoked tobacco. They are formulated from ingredients certified as safe for health, unlike the 7,000 harmful substances found in traditional cigarettes. Nevertheless, to choose a safe e-liquid, a few precautions should be taken, such as buying your e-liquid from a recognised retailer like Le Vapoteur Discount, or checking the composition and origin by favouring reputable and regulated brands.
An e-liquid manufactured in France meets strict requirements and European directives regarding traceability, quality control, and safety. As a mark of quality and transparency for consumers, French and European brands generally have their own laboratory for developing their e-liquid formulas and are required to have those formulations assessed by an independent laboratory before going to market. These steps guarantee e-liquids that are safe for vapers. These French and European quality standards prohibit undesirable substances and provide a more secure framework for vaping.
To keep your e-liquid for as long as possible and preserve its quality, taste, and colour, store it in its original bottle, ideally away from light, heat, and air. Despite these precautions, the e-liquid may sometimes take on a slightly brown tint. Safe and suitable for use, this colour is caused by the oxidation of nicotine and may also depend on the flavouring used in the e-liquid. It is generally recommended not to keep the same e-liquid in your clearomiser or pod cartridge for more than 5 days if you are not using it, to avoid leaks and excessive oxidation.
The BBD (Best Before Date) or MHD (Minimum Durability Date) is an indicative date. Once the e-liquid's date has passed, it may lose its taste qualities and appearance (colour, fluidity). A factory-fresh e-liquid will have a BBD of approximately 2 years. Even past the BBD, the e-liquid remains suitable for vaporisation and will not be harmful to health.
