An e-liquid is a consumable for e-cigarettes only. The 10 ml format is the only one authorized to contain nicotine under European regulations. Practical, discreet and easy to carry, it is ideal for testing a flavor without a long-term commitment or for everyday vaping with ease.
The nicotine level of an e-liquid depends on your smoker profile:
Light smoker (fewer than 5 cigarettes per day): 3 to 6 mg/ml of nicotine. If you smoke little, a low nicotine level may be enough to satisfy your tobacco cravings.
Moderate smoker (5 to 15 cigarettes per day): 6 to 12 mg/ml of nicotine. For regular smokers, a medium nicotine level helps recreate the sensations and satisfaction that match their habits.
Heavy smoker (more than 15 cigarettes per day): 12 to 18 mg/ml of nicotine. If you smoke a lot, you will likely need a high nicotine level to compensate for the strong withdrawal sensation and the urge to smoke.
Very heavy smoker (more than 20 cigarettes per day): 18 to 20 mg/ml of nicotine. Very heavy smokers need the maximum nicotine level to counterbalance the effects of withdrawal and quitting smoking. Nicotine salt e-liquids (at 20 mg/ml) were designed with them in mind.
This estimate is provided as a guideline: every vaper is unique and may reconsider their nicotine level based on their throat hit sensation and the device used.
E-cigarette: balanced PG/VG ratios are suitable for most versatile e-cigarettes such as the CoolFire Z80 by Innokin, the Zelos M80 Kit by Aspire, or the iStick T80 by Eleaf.
Pod: The Soul 2 Pod Kit by GeekVape and the Vibe SE by Vaporesso.
Clearomizer: versatile models such as the Zenith 2 by Innokin, the GTX18 by Vaporesso, or the Zeus Nano 2 by GeekVape are compatible with a balanced PG/VG ratio.
Coil: this ratio is ideal with coils between 1.2 ohm and 0.4 ohm.
Drip tip: a standard 510 format drip tip is preferred, but some vapers use it with airy 810 models without noticing any leaks.
A balanced PG/VG ratio (50/50) can be suitable for a wide power range between 10 and 50 watts.
If you do not smoke, do not vape :)

An e-liquid (or liquid for electronic cigarettes) is the product that generates vapour when heated by the coil of an e-cigarette. Unlike traditional cigarettes, there is no combustion. The e-liquid is composed of a base (propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin), flavourings, and optionally nicotine. It determines the taste, throat sensation, cloud production, and overall vaping experience.
An e-liquid generally contains four elements:
Some formulas also use alternative plant-based bases (Végétol) for extra smoothness.
An e-liquid with nicotine is intended for vapers who wish to replace traditional cigarettes. Nicotine acts on the satisfaction sensation and reduces cravings. Nicotine-free e-liquids are used either at the end of a quitting programme, or purely for the pleasure of vaping, although it is not recommended to vape if you are not a smoker. Choosing the right nicotine level is essential to avoid a poor experience (irritation or cravings). The nicotine dosage depends on your previous cigarette consumption. A light smoker will not have the same needs as a heavy smoker. A level that is too low can lead to frustration and relapse, while a level that is too high can cause throat discomfort. The goal is to find a balance between hit, sensation and vaping comfort, adjusting progressively as needed. A low dosage of 0, 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine is generally recommended for light smokers or occasional smokers (fewer than 7 cigarettes per day), and a high dosage of 20 mg/ml of nicotine salt for heavy smokers (one pack of cigarettes or more). However, this dosage can be adjusted depending on your e-cigarette and your vaping style.
Nicotine salt is a more stable and smoother form of nicotine to inhale. It provides rapid absorption with a less aggressive throat hit, even at high levels. Nicotine salt e-liquids are particularly suited to beginner vapers, former heavy smokers, and low-wattage MTL kits. Various nicotine salt dosages are available. The most well-known and effective is 20 mg/ml, highly suited to heavy smokers. However, a 10 mg/ml dosage can work very well for regular or occasional smokers.
A nicotine booster is a concentrated nicotine bottle designed to be added to a large-format e-liquid. It allows you to adjust the final nicotine level depending on the quantity added. Flexible and economical, this solution lets you boost your large-format e-liquid to 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine. For a 50 ml e-liquid, adding one nicotine booster will give you 3 mg/ml; two nicotine boosters will bring your e-liquid up to 6 mg/ml.
The propylene glycol / vegetable glycerin ratio strongly influences the vaping experience.
The choice therefore depends on the wattage and compatibility with your e-cigarette. If in doubt, the most common ratio remains the 50/50 PG/VG. Balanced, it allows versatile use across MTL, RDL and light DTL e-cigarette models (approximately between 15 and 40 watts).
Plant-based or Végétol e-liquids replace traditional propylene glycol. They are often gentler on the throat, better tolerated by vapers who are sensitive to PG, and offer a smoother vape without compromising on flavour. However, they should be used in MTL mode at low wattage (minimum 30 watts) to avoid leakage risks and preserve product quality.
Yes, CBD e-liquids are designed for vaping and generally contain no nicotine. They offer a different sensation, focused on relaxation, with no addictive effect. They should be used at moderate wattage to preserve product quality. A tight-draw MTL e-cigarette is recommended for use with them.
E-liquids are considered a far healthier alternative to smoked tobacco. They are formulated from ingredients certified as safe for health, unlike the 7,000 harmful substances found in traditional cigarettes. Nevertheless, to choose a safe e-liquid, a few precautions should be taken, such as purchasing your e-liquid from a recognised retailer like Le Vapoteur Discount, or checking the composition and origin by favouring reputable and regulated brands.
An e-liquid manufactured in France meets strict requirements and European directives regarding traceability, quality control and safety. As a mark of quality and transparency for consumers, French and European brands generally have their own laboratory for developing their e-liquid formulas, and are required to have their formulation reviewed by an independent laboratory before going to market. These steps guarantee e-liquids that are safe for vapers. French and European quality standards prohibit undesirable substances and provide a more secure framework for vaping.
To keep your e-liquid for as long as possible and preserve its quality, taste and colour, you should store it in its original bottle and ideally away from light, heat and air. Despite these precautions, the e-liquid may sometimes take on a slightly brown tint. Safe and fit for consumption, this colour is due to the oxidation of nicotine and may also depend on the flavouring used in the e-liquid. It is generally recommended not to keep the same e-liquid for more than 5 days in your clearomiser or pod cartridge if you are not using it, to avoid leaks and excessive oxidation.
The DLUO (Date Limite d'Utilisation Optimale) or BBD (Best Before Date) is an indicative date. Once the e-liquid's date has passed, it may lose its flavour qualities and appearance (colour, fluidity). An e-liquid straight from the factory will have a BBD of around 2 years. Even past the BBD, the e-liquid remains safe to vape and will not be harmful to health.
