The Vapoteur Discount guide for your 10 ml e-liquid

An e-liquid is a consumable for electronic cigarettes exclusively. The 10 ml format is the only one authorized to contain nicotine under European regulations. Practical, discreet and easy to carry, it is ideal for trying a flavor without a long-term commitment or for everyday vaping with ease.

What nicotine level should you choose for your e-liquid?

The nicotine level of an e-liquid depends on your smoker profile:

Light smoker (fewer than 5 cigarettes per day): 3 to 6 mg/ml of nicotine. If you smoke little, a low nicotine level may be enough to satisfy your tobacco cravings.

Moderate smoker (5 to 15 cigarettes per day): 6 to 12 mg/ml of nicotine. For those who smoke regularly, a moderate nicotine level helps recreate the sensations and satisfaction that match their habits.

Heavy smoker (more than 15 cigarettes per day): 12 to 18 mg/ml of nicotine. If you smoke a lot, you will probably need a high nicotine level to compensate for the strong withdrawal sensation and the urge to smoke.

Heavy smoker (more than 20 cigarettes per day): 18 and 20 mg/ml of nicotine. Heavy smokers need the maximum nicotine level to counterbalance the effects of withdrawal and quitting tobacco. Nicotine salt e-liquids (at 20 mg/ml) were designed with them in mind.

This estimate is provided as a guide only: every vaper is unique and may reconsider their nicotine level based on their throat sensation and the equipment used.

Choosing the right equipment for an e-liquid with a balanced PG/VG ratio (50/50)

Electronic cigarette: balanced PG/VG ratios are suitable for the majority of versatile electronic cigarettes such as the CoolFire Z80 by Innokin, the Zelos M80 Kit by Aspire or the iStick T80 by Eleaf.

Pod: The Soul 2 Pod Kit by GeekVape and the Vibe SE by Vaporesso.

Clearomizer: versatile models such as the Zenith 2 by Innokin, the GTX18 by Vaporesso or the Zeus Nano 2 by GeekVape are compatible with a balanced PG/VG ratio.

Resistance: this ratio is ideal with resistances between 1.2 ohm and 0.4 ohm.

Drip tip: a standard 510 format drip tip mouthpiece is preferred, but some vapers use it on airy 810 models without experiencing leaks.

Power setting

A balanced PG/VG ratio (50/50) can suit a wide power range between 10 and 50 watts.

Regular maintenance

  • To ensure a long lifespan and optimal performance for your electronic cigarette, regular maintenance is essential:
  • Clean your clearomizer and drip tip regularly to prevent the build-up of residue;
  • Replace the coils as soon as you notice a change in taste and a drop in performance (on average every 2 to 3 weeks);
  • Avoid leaving your tank full with the same e-liquid for more than 5 days without using it (risk of leakage, flavor deterioration).

Usage precautions

If you don't smoke, don't vape :)

This product containing nicotine is prohibited for minors, pregnant women, and people with cardiovascular problems or hypertension.

In case of allergies: check for the presence of any allergens in the composition (limonene, tree nuts, etc.), listed on the product label.

In case of skin contact: the pharmaceutical nicotine contained in e-liquids can be an irritant for the skin of sensitive individuals. If contact occurs over a large skin surface, rinse thoroughly with water and soap.

Storing your e-liquids: keep your e-liquids in a dry place, away from light and temperature changes. Also keep out of reach of children and pets.

Out of respect for the environment and recycling, we would be grateful if you disposed of empty bottles in the appropriate bins.

FAQ

An e-liquid (or electronic cigarette liquid) is the product that generates vapour when heated by the coil of an electronic cigarette. Unlike traditional cigarettes, there is no combustion. The e-liquid is made up of a base (propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine), flavourings, and optionally nicotine. It determines the taste, throat hit, cloud production, and overall vaping experience.

An e-liquid generally contains four elements:
  • propylene glycol (PG), which carries the flavours, enhances the throat hit and provides a sensation close to that of a cigarette;
  • vegetable glycerin (VG), responsible for the vapour and the density of the cloud;
  • flavourings, which give the taste (fruit, mint, classic tobacco, dessert, ice…);
  • nicotine, optional, which helps manage cravings in vapers who are quitting smoking.
Some formulas also use alternative vegetable bases (Végétol) for extra smoothness.

An e-liquid with nicotine is intended for vapers who wish to replace traditional cigarettes. Nicotine acts on the feeling of satisfaction and limits cravings. E-liquids without nicotine are used either at the end of the quitting process, or purely for the pleasure of vaping, even though it is not recommended to vape if you are not a smoker. Choosing the right nicotine level is essential to avoid a poor experience (throat irritation or cravings). The nicotine dosage depends on your previous cigarette consumption. A light smoker will not have the same needs as a heavy smoker. A level that is too low can lead to frustration and relapse, while a level that is too high can cause throat discomfort. The goal is to find a balance between throat hit, sensation, and vaping comfort, adjusting gradually as needed. We generally recommend a low dosage of 0, 3, or 6 mg/ml of nicotine for light smokers or occasional smokers (fewer than 7 cigarettes per day), and a high dosage of 20 mg/ml of nicotine salt for a heavy smoker (1 packet of cigarettes or more). However, this dosage can be adjusted depending on your e-cigarette and your vaping style.

Nicotine salt is a more stable and smoother form of nicotine to inhale. It provides rapid absorption, with a less harsh throat hit, even at high concentrations. Nicotine salt e-liquids are particularly suitable for beginner vapers, former heavy smokers, and low-powered MTL kits. There are different nicotine salt dosages. The best-known and most effective being 20 mg/ml, which is well suited for heavy smokers. But a 10 mg/ml dosage can work very well for a regular or occasional smoker.

A nicotine booster is a concentrated nicotine bottle, designed to be added to a large-format e-liquid. It allows you to adjust the final nicotine level according to the quantity added. Flexible and economical, this solution allows you to boost your large-format e-liquid to 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine. For a 50 ml e-liquid, adding one nicotine booster will give you 3 mg/ml, while two nicotine boosters will transform your e-liquid into 6 mg/ml.

The propylene glycol / vegetable glycerine ratio strongly influences the vape.
  • An e-liquid rich in propylene glycol or PG (70/30, 80/20) enhances the throat hit, flavour accuracy and a discreet vape. The e-liquid will be fluid and compatible only with MTL equipment with a tight draw to avoid leaks.
  • An e-liquid rich in vegetable glycerine or VG (30/70) produces more vapour and cloud, with a smoother, sweeter sensation. This thicker e-liquid will be compatible with sub-ohm or hookah-style e-cigarettes, producing large vapour clouds at high wattage.
The choice therefore depends on the power and compatibility with your e-cigarette. If in doubt, the most common ratio remains 50/50 PG/VG. Balanced, it allows versatile use on MTL, RDL and light DTL e-cigarette models (between approximately 15 and 40 watts).

E-liquids with a vegetable base or with Végétol replace traditional propylene glycol. They are often gentler on the throat, better tolerated by some vapers who are sensitive to PG, and offer a smoother vape without compromising on flavour. However, they should be used in MTL with a low wattage (minimum 30 watts) to avoid the risk of leaks and preserve the quality of the product.

Yes, CBD e-liquids are designed for vaping and generally do not contain nicotine. They offer a different sensation, focused on relaxation, without any addictive effect. They should be used at a moderate wattage to preserve the quality of the product. A mouth-to-lung (MTL) e-cigarette with a tight draw is recommended.

E-liquids are considered a much healthier alternative to smoked tobacco. They are formulated from ingredients certified as safe for health, unlike the 7,000 harmful substances found in traditional cigarettes. Nevertheless, to choose a safe e-liquid, a few precautions should be taken, such as purchasing your e-liquid from a recognised retailer like Le Vapoteur Discount, or checking the composition and origin by favouring reputable and regulated brands.

An e-liquid manufactured in France adheres to strict requirements and European directives regarding traceability, quality control, and safety. As a mark of quality and transparency for the consumer, French and European brands generally have their own laboratory for developing their e-liquid formulas and are required to have these formulations evaluated by an independent laboratory before they are brought to market. All these steps guarantee e-liquids that are safe for vapers. These French and European quality standards prohibit undesirable substances and provide a more secure framework for vaping.

To keep your e-liquid for as long as possible and preserve its quality, taste and colour, it should be kept in its original bottle and ideally away from light, heat and air. Despite these precautions, the e-liquid may take on a slightly brown tint. Safe and suitable for consumption, this colour is due to the oxidation of the nicotine and may also depend on the flavouring used in the e-liquid. It is generally recommended not to keep the same e-liquid for more than 5 days in your clearomiser or pod cartridge if you are not using it, to avoid leaks and excessive oxidation.

The DLUO (Date Limite d'Utilisation Optimale) or BBD (Best Before Date) is an indicative date. Once the e-liquid's date has passed, it may lose its taste qualities and appearance (colour, fluidity). An e-liquid fresh from the factory will have a BBD of around 2 years. Even past its BBD, the e-liquid remains suitable for vaping and will not be harmful to health.
