The advantage of a concentrated flavouring for DIY

The concentrated DIY flavouring gives you the freedom to create your own mixes at a good value for money. By blending your own e-liquid, it is possible to obtain personalised flavours tailored to your tastes, while controlling the nicotine dosage.

It is also a more economical solution: a single bottle of flavouring can be used to prepare several tens of millilitres of e-liquid, at a lower cost than ready-to-vape e-liquids.

For demanding vape enthusiasts, DIY is thus a cost-effective experience.

Required equipment

In order to create your own DIY e-liquid, you will need:

• A concentrated flavouring for DIY;
• A neutral PG/VG base (with or without nicotine);
• An additive (optional);
• One or more empty bottles to transport your mixes;
• A pipette or a graduated bottle;
• Latex gloves and safety glasses if you need to handle nicotine.

Before any handling, make sure to work on a clean, washed surface out of reach of children and animals.

DIY flavour dosing

A concentrated flavouring must be mandatorily diluted in a PG/VG base and cannot be vaped on its own.

Depending on the manufacturer, a DIY flavour has a different dilution rate, always expressed as a percentage: 4%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%.

Concretely, in our 200 ml DIY Pack in 50/50 PG/VG, this would give:

• 4% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 8 ml of flavouring to add to your 200 ml base
• 10% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 20 ml of flavouring to add to your 200 ml base
• 15% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 30 ml of flavouring to add to your 200 ml base
• 20% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 40 ml of flavouring to add to your 200 ml base
• 25% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 50 ml of flavouring to add to your 200 ml base

In a 70/30 base:

If your neutral base contains more propylene glycol (flavour enhancer), we recommend reducing the dosage of your flavouring (from 15 to 12% minimum).

In a 30/70 base:

If your neutral base contains more vegetable glycerin (which attenuates flavours), we recommend adding a little more flavouring to your mix (from 15 to 17%).

Steeping

Leave your e-liquid to rest for a few days to a few weeks so that the flavours develop fully. Some flavours require more steeping time than others:

• Simple fruity flavours: 0 to 5 days;
• Complex fruity flavours (raspberry, orange, apple, blackberry, watermelon, dragon fruit...): 5 to 7 days;
• Menthol, spiced, vanilla, or anise flavours: 10 to 15 days;
• Dessert flavours: 15 to 20 days;
• Classic flavours: approximately 15 days.

After the steeping period, test your liquid. You can adjust the flavour by adding base to attenuate it or by adding flavouring to strengthen it, if necessary.

Storage

To preserve all the qualities of your DIY e-liquid:

• Store it in a dry place, away from light and heat;
• Note the manufacturing date and ingredients on each bottle;
• Always store your preparations out of reach of children and animals.
