Like any other product intended for consumption, the BBD or MHD label appears on your e-liquid, flavor or booster bottles. The BBD mention, which stands for Best Before Date, was replaced in 2015 by the acronym MHD, for Minimum Durability Date. Purely informational in purpose, the MHD indicates the date from which the product begins to lose quality; in other words, it is the equivalent of the "best before" label found on food products.
E-liquids whose MHD or BBD has passed remain safe to consume without any risk. The MHD mention has difficulty becoming established among vapers and many still confuse it with the UBD (Use-By Date). The latter is quite the opposite, as it refers to the final deadline for consuming the product. After this date, the product in question must no longer be consumed for health reasons. Once again, this label is most commonly found on food product packaging, but not on vaping products, which systematically feature a MHD/BBD. There is therefore nothing to worry about if you realize that the recommended consumption date of your e-liquid has been exceeded for months. However, its properties can be very easily altered beforehand if it is not stored properly.

- Choose a cool place (around 18°C).

- Keep your e-liquids away from air and humidity. Make sure to seal your e-liquid bottles tightly to protect them effectively, and also try to expose your e-liquids to open air for as little time as possible.
Poor storage of your e-liquids can lead to deterioration of their intrinsic components; something you want to avoid at all costs, even though they can still be consumed safely. Among the notable changes that can be observed in poorly stored e-liquids, there is a degradation in flavor quality. Furthermore, even though it poses no health risk, it is very likely that the color of your e-liquids may change and turn yellow or even brown. Finally, bear in mind that nicotine is a very delicate molecule and that improper storage can lead to a deterioration of its effects. The fact that it can no longer act in any way on the body could potentially disrupt your plans if you had started a smoking cessation program.
