The advantage of a concentrated flavor for DIY

DIY concentrated flavor gives you the freedom to create your own blends at a great value for money. By mixing your e-liquid yourself, you can obtain personalized flavors tailored to your tastes, while controlling the nicotine dosage.

It is also a more economical solution: a single bottle of flavor allows you to prepare several tens of milliliters of e-liquid, at a lower cost than ready-to-vape e-liquids.

For demanding vaping enthusiasts, DIY is therefore a cost-effective experience.

Required equipment

In order to create your own DIY e-liquid, you will need:

• A concentrated flavor for DIY ;
• A neutral PG/VG base (with or without nicotine) ;
• An additive (optional) ;
• One or more empty bottles to carry your blends ;
• A pipette or a graduated bottle ;
• Latex gloves and safety goggles if you need to handle nicotine.

Before any handling, make sure to work on a clean, washed surface out of reach of children and animals.

DIY flavor dosage

A concentrated flavor must be compulsorily diluted in a PG/VG base and cannot be vaped on its own.

Depending on the manufacturer, a DIY flavor has a different dilution rate, always expressed as a percentage: 4%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%.

Concretely, in our DIY Pack 200 ml in 50/50 PG/VG, this would give:

• 4% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 8 ml of flavor to add to your 200 ml base
• 10% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 20 ml of flavor to add to your 200 ml base
• 15% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 30 ml of flavor to add to your 200 ml base
• 20% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 40 ml of flavor to add to your 200 ml base
• 25% of the total volume in a 50/50 PG/VG base = 50 ml of flavor to add to your 200 ml base

In a 70/30 base:

If your neutral base contains more propylene glycol (flavor enhancer), we advise you to reduce the dosage of your flavor (from 15 to a minimum of 12%).

In a 30/70 base:

If your neutral base contains more vegetable glycerin (which reduces flavors), we advise you to add a little more flavor to your mixture (from 15 to 17%).

Steeping

Let your e-liquid rest for a few days to a few weeks so that the flavors develop fully. Some flavors require more maturation time than others:

• Simple fruity flavors : 0 to 5 days ;
• Complex fruity flavors (raspberry, orange, apple, blackberry, watermelon, dragon fruit...) : 5 to 7 days ;
• Menthol, spiced, vanilla or anise flavors : 10 to 15 days ;
• Dessert flavors : 15 to 20 days ;
• Classic flavors: approximately 15 days.

After the maturation period, test your liquid. You can adjust the flavor by adding base to reduce it or adding flavor to strengthen it, if necessary.

Storage

To preserve all the qualities of your DIY e-liquid:

• Store it in a dry place, away from light and heat ;
• Note the manufacturing date and ingredients on each bottle ;
• Always store your preparations out of reach of children and animals.
