The term "puff" comes from English meaning "a puff" or "a drag", referring to the action performed when smoking a cigarette. Ready to use, the puff already contains liquid, its battery is pre-charged and no button is needed to vape. The puff was designed to make vaping easier, particularly for beginners.
The way a puff works is based on an automatic mechanism: inhalation activates the coil, which heats the liquid in order to produce vapor.
To give you an idea, a puff allows you to vape on average between 300 and 600 puffs depending on the model.
To allow vapers a gradual adjustment when quitting smoking, the nicotine level in puffs varies between 0 mg and 20 mg depending on the model.
No handling is required — inhalation alone will trigger the vape with the puff. This mechanism makes use very intuitive, even for beginners.
Unlike puffs, the e-cigarette is fully rechargeable and long-lasting. It consists of a tank, a coil, a liquid to be chosen according to your nicotine needs, and an often more powerful battery.
The puff, on the other hand, requires minimal maintenance, particularly for the coil change which takes place approximately every three weeks and more or less regular battery recharging. On the vast majority of models, you will also need to choose your e-liquid compatible with your tastes and nicotine level.
More expensive to buy, the classic e-cigarette is however kinder to your wallet in the long run, as it is far more durable than the puff.
