The Vapoteur Discount guide for your 10 ml e-liquid

An e-liquid is a consumable for e-cigarettes exclusively. The 10 ml format is the only one authorized to contain nicotine under European regulations. Practical, discreet and easy to carry, it is ideal for testing a flavor without a long-term commitment or for everyday vaping with complete simplicity.

How to choose the right nicotine level for your e-liquid?

The nicotine level of an e-liquid depends on the smoker's profile:

  • Light smoker (fewer than 5 cigarettes per day): 3 to 6 mg/ml of nicotine. If you smoke little, a low nicotine level may be enough to satisfy your tobacco cravings.
  • Moderate smoker (5 to 15 cigarettes per day): 6 to 12 mg/ml of nicotine. For those who smoke regularly, a moderate nicotine level helps recreate the sensations and satisfaction that match their habits.
  • Intense smoker (more than 15 cigarettes per day): 12 to 18 mg/ml of nicotine. If you smoke a lot, you will probably need a high nicotine level to compensate for the strong withdrawal sensation and the urge to smoke.
  • Heavy smoker (more than 20 cigarettes per day): 18 and 20 mg/ml of nicotine. Heavy smokers need the maximum nicotine level to counterbalance the effects of withdrawal and quitting smoking. Nicotine salt e-liquids (at 20 mg/ml) have been designed for them.

This estimate is provided as a guide: every vaper is unique and may reconsider their nicotine level based on their throat hit sensation and the equipment used.

Choosing equipment for a thick e-liquid rich in vegetable glycerin VG (40/60 to 20/80)

E-cigarette: e-liquids rich in vegetable glycerin pair very well with large, high-powered airflow devices such as the Kit Aegis Legend 3 by GeekVape, the Kit Gen Max by Vaporesso or the Kit Spark 220 by Voopoo.

Clearomizer: this thick PG/VG ratio pairs well with subohm models such as the Zeus by GeekVape, the Huracan by Aspire or the UForce-X by Voopoo

Coil: it works best with coils between 0.4 ohm and 0.15 ohm.

Drip tip: we prefer a wide-bore 810 format drip tip.

Power setting

A VG-rich ratio is suitable for a wattage above 40 watts.

Regular maintenance

To ensure a long service life and optimal performance for your e-cigarette, regular maintenance is crucial:

  • Clean your clearomizer and drip tip frequently to avoid the build-up of residue ;
  • Replace coils as soon as you notice a change in flavor and a decrease in performance (on average every 2 to 3 weeks) ;
  • Avoid leaving your tank full with the same e-liquid for more than 5 days without using it (risk of leaks, flavor deterioration).

Usage precautions

If you don't smoke, don't vape :)

This product containing nicotine is prohibited for minors, pregnant women, and people with cardiovascular problems or hypertension.

In case of allergies: check for any potential allergens in the composition (limonene, tree nuts, etc.) listed on the product label.

In case of skin contact: the pharmaceutical nicotine contained in e-liquids can be an irritant for the skin of sensitive individuals. In case of contact with a large area of skin, rinse thoroughly with water and soap.

Storing your e-liquids: keep your e-liquids in a dry place, away from light and temperature changes. Also keep out of reach of children and pets.

In the interest of environmental responsibility and recycling, we would be grateful if you dispose of empty bottles in the appropriate bins.

FAQ

An e-liquid (or liquid for e-cigarettes) is the product that generates vapour when heated by the coil of an e-cigarette. Unlike traditional cigarettes, there is no combustion. The e-liquid is composed of a base (propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin), flavourings, and optionally nicotine. It is what determines the taste, the throat sensation, the cloud production, and the overall vaping experience.

An e-liquid generally contains four elements:

  • propylene glycol (PG), which carries the flavours, enhances the throat hit and provides a sensation close to that of a cigarette;
  • vegetable glycerin (VG), responsible for the vapour and cloud density;
  • flavourings, which provide the taste (fruit, mint, classic tobacco, dessert, ice…);
  • nicotine, optional, which helps manage cravings in vapers who are cutting down.

Some formulas also use alternative plant-based bases (Végétol) for a smoother experience.

A nicotine e-liquid is intended for vapers who want to replace traditional cigarettes. Nicotine acts on the feeling of satisfaction and reduces cravings. Nicotine-free e-liquids are used either at the end of a cessation programme or purely for the pleasure of vaping, even though vaping is not recommended if you are not a smoker. Choosing the right nicotine level is essential to avoid a poor experience (irritation or cravings). The nicotine dosage depends on your previous cigarette consumption. A light smoker will not have the same needs as a heavy smoker. A level that is too low can lead to frustration and relapse, while a level that is too high can cause throat discomfort. The aim is to find a balance between hit, sensation and vaping comfort, adjusting gradually as needed. A low dosage of 0, 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine is generally recommended for light smokers or occasional smokers (fewer than 7 cigarettes per day), and a high dosage of 20 mg/ml nicotine salt for heavy smokers (1 packet of cigarettes or more). However, this dosage can be adjusted depending on your electronic cigarette and the way you vape.

Nicotine salt is a more stable form of nicotine that is gentler on inhalation. It provides rapid absorption with a less harsh throat hit, even at high levels. Nicotine salt e-liquids are particularly suited to beginner vapers, former heavy smokers and low-power MTL kits. Various nicotine salt dosages are available. The best known and most effective is 20 mg/ml, highly suitable for heavy smokers. However, a dosage of 10 mg/ml may be perfectly adequate for a regular or occasional smoker.

A nicotine booster is a nicotine-concentrated bottle designed to be added to a large-format e-liquid. It allows you to adjust the final nicotine level depending on the quantity added. Flexible and economical, this solution allows you to boost your large-format e-liquid to 3 or 6 mg/ml of nicotine. For a 50 ml e-liquid, adding one nicotine booster will give you 3 mg/ml; two nicotine boosters will turn your e-liquid into 6 mg/ml.

The propylene glycol / vegetable glycerin ratio strongly influences the vape.

  • An e-liquid rich in propylene glycol or PG (70/30, 80/20) enhances the throat hit, flavour precision and a discreet vape. The e-liquid will be fluid and compatible only with MTL equipment with a tight draw to avoid leaks.
  • An e-liquid rich in vegetable glycerin or VG (30/70) produces more vapour and cloud, with a softer, sweeter sensation. This thicker e-liquid will be compatible with sub-ohm or shisha-type e-cigarettes, producing large clouds of vapour at high power.

The choice therefore depends on the power and compatibility with your e-cigarette. If in doubt, the most common ratio remains 50/50 PG/VG. Balanced, it allows versatile use on MTL, RDL and light DTL e-cigarette models (between approximately 15 and 40 watts).

Plant-based e-liquids or those made with Végétol replace traditional propylene glycol. They are often gentler on the throat, better tolerated by vapers who are sensitive to PG, and offer a smoother vape without compromising on flavour. However, they should be used in MTL mode at low power (minimum 30 watts) to avoid the risk of leaks and preserve the quality of the product.

Yes, CBD e-liquids are designed for vaping and generally do not contain nicotine. They offer a different sensation, focused on relaxation, without any addictive effect. They should be used at moderate power to preserve the quality of the product. An MTL e-cigarette with a tight draw is recommended.

E-liquids are considered a much healthier alternative to smoked tobacco. They are formulated from ingredients certified as safe for health, unlike the 7,000 harmful substances found in traditional cigarettes. Nevertheless, to choose a safe e-liquid, a few precautions should be taken, such as purchasing your e-liquid from a recognised retailer like Le Vapoteur Discount or checking the composition and origin by favouring reputable and regulated brands.

An e-liquid manufactured in France adheres to strict requirements and European directives regarding traceability, control and safety. A guarantee of quality and transparency for the consumer, French and European brands generally have their own laboratory for developing their e-liquid formula and are obliged to have this formulation assessed by an independent laboratory before it is brought to market. All these steps ensure that e-liquids are safe for vapers. These French and European quality standards prohibit undesirable substances and provide a more secure framework for vaping.

To keep your e-liquid for as long as possible and preserve its quality, taste and colour, it should be kept in its original bottle and ideally away from light, heat and air. Despite these precautions, the e-liquid may sometimes take on a slightly brown tint. Safe and suitable for consumption, this colour is due to the oxidation of nicotine and may also depend on the flavouring used in the e-liquid. It is generally advised not to keep the same e-liquid for more than 5 days in your clearomiser or pod cartridge if you are not using it, to avoid leaks and excessive oxidation.

The DLUO (Best Before Date) or DDM (Minimum Durability Date) is an indicative date. Once the e-liquid's date has passed, it may lose its taste qualities and appearance (colour, fluidity). An e-liquid fresh from the factory will have a DDM of approximately 2 years. Even past the DDM, the e-liquid remains suitable for vaporisation and will not be harmful to health.
